PARKING BRAKE
04/09/20109087
April 9, 2010 my husband and i were pulling into the garage of our home when our 2010 honda insight going about 2 miles per hour would not stop when my husband put on the brake. the car crashed into the inside wall of our garage causing damage to the front end of the car, garage wall, and destroyed a sitting bench that was in front of the garage wall. as a passenger in the car, i saw my husband who was driving the car put the brake pedal all the way to the floor and the car would not stop! we had no control of the vehicle, and absolutely no brakes. after we crashed into the garage wall, he placed the car in reverse and once again the brakes would not stop the car and we ended up in the road. the entire time my husband had the brake pedal to the floor and the car was not stopping. this was the first time we have encountered a problem with the brakes since we purchased our vehicle. we were extremely fortunate that there were no other cars in the road at the time or that we were going 50 mph down a highway. there are two witnesses other than my husband and myself to this incident. the car was checked by a honda dealership found-no problems with the brakes. blamed it on weather(45 degrees that day) or a thick floor mat could be the cause. refused to say it was the brakes when my husband and i know it was for a fact it was the brakes or a computer glitch. i was in the car and watched what happened. it was not the floor mat or the weather!
