| On june 16, 2000 my 2000 honda odyessy was rear ended or hit by another vehicle in the rear bumper. the cause of the accident was the transmission failure with only 6,000 miles on the odyessy. i was southbound on euclid ave. at interstate 5. i was stopped at a red light in a uphill position. i was the first vehicle at the light. when the light turn green, i proceeded to go and my odyssey transmission slipped and then caught and then the engine stalled out. this caused the odyssey to lurch forward and then stop suddenly. when the odyssey stopped i still had my foot on the gas to go so that no brake lights came on to warn the drivers to my rear that my vehicle was about to stop. my odyssey was hit in the rear bumper by the vehicle to my rear. the accident was reported to the anaheim police who came to the scene and made report # dr no 00-23199. the vehicle to my rear was without insurance. i reported this accident to honda of america and the called me back to inform me that they would not assume responsibility for the damages to my vehicle. i have not had an appraisal of my damages yet it could be several thousand dollars. i am holding off because on the appraisal because the vehicle behind mine had no insurance and american honda claims no responsibility. on a separate incident on june 24, 2000 my left rear tire blue out at 70 mph with only 7,500 miles on it. i came to a safe stop and had the tire replaced for $100.00 . another problem is that the brakes grind with a metal to metal sound when coming to a complete stop. another problem is that my power steering sometimes hesitates and jerks. another problem is when running the rear airconditioning on high the rear blower speed fluctuates like as if it has a bad connection. another problem that i have noticed since the colder weather around november, 2000 when i use the defroster on the front windows it smells like an electrical fire, or like wires are burning. *ak (dot number: m30d tiresize: p215/65r16) | |||

| Problems with steering on 2000 honda odyssey. *mr there was a vibration in the steering when going 65 mph along with brake pulsation (rear brake drums were tapered and the shoes did not apply properly), rims were out of round, the vehicle pulled to the right, driver's window squeaked when going down, brakes squeaked, one tire was found bad when the vibration in the steering wheel occurred and was replaced. eventually all the tires were replaced but the vibration still occurred. *scc *jb | |||

| Driving down the interstate in my 2000 honda odyssey when the passenger side rear window imploded, shattering glass all over my two small children. the police officer who stopped to help us asked if the airconditioner was on, said that if the window was hot on the outside and the cold on the inside a window could shatter like that. we are reporting this incident to honda as well, the window is being replaced.*ak | |||

| Power sliding doors opens by itself. dealer replaced latches. problems still existed. called and spoke with manufacturer's representative about problem and i asked for an extended warranty on doors. no response. called dealer to fix problem. dealer will not do repairs unless they see that doors are opens by itself. also, sometimes power doors will not close fully in. sometimes power doors buzzer will comes on occasionally. it's annoying. i think the defective doors are unsafe especially for children. i need a life time warranty on door problems. also fan blower is noisy at medium to high speed. dealer fix once.problem arises again. 80-85% of the time the front brakes are grinding. new pads, same problem. | |||

| Have had power sliding doors looked at several times since purchase. each time dealer could not duplicate problem, till now. door ajar buzzer would sound at highway speeds from driver's side door. turning off power switch silenced the buzzer & door seemed ok. lately, the door was not locking. dealer duplicated the problem, replaced junction contacts with "upgraded" ones. then noted the clutch motor that closes the door did not complete the job & that the door was not latching! he did not believe that it would open accidentally. we have placed 2 calls to honda of north america, without response, looking for an extension on the warranty toward the replacement of this motor. still waiting for response after 6 days. | |||

| The sliding doors on my odyssey have failed three times in less than a year. i bought an extended warranty so the dealer has been replacing the motors and latches. the concern is they are not latching after they fail. the other concern was they tried to tell my wife that she needed to pull on the top of the door to release the tension so not to burn out the motor. $26,000 and we need to pry the doors open? i lock them manually now because i do not want them opening while traveling. | |||

| When the electric sliding door on the passenger side closes it will not latch securely. you have to manually push it in order for it to latch. several 2000 odysseys have been recalled for this symtom, however, mine was not included in the recall. dealership will not make a goodwill repair. a case has been opened with honda but they state if they approve reimbursment for repair it will only be partial. | |||

| There is a loud wind/vibration noise from front left side around windshield and or driver's door. noise is constant when driving on open highways.we have returned it to the dealer twice. first time the dealer adjusted drivers door (which was out of spec according to dealer). second time, replaced rubber molding/insulation on drivers door which was defective. after both visits, the noise continues to be a problem during highway driving. when the noise appears you can feel a vibration in the interior molding on the left side of the windshield. | |||

| Husband tapped windowshield from the inside of car to kill small bug and windshield cracked on the outside. windshield is indented on the outside. the inside has no cracks or marks. husband and i could not remember any objects hitting the windshield during a recent trip. talked to dealer about posssible defeat. dealer has not returned calls. very concerned about tapping windshield or the possibility of objects hitting the windshield. | |||
