While in route home from post op appt, my 2003 honda odyssey was struck and forced off the highway. we were travelling at 60mph when we were t-boned from vehicle in far left lane. the suv that hit us was travelling faster, hit us a total of 3 times... drivers passenger door, corner of the nose and in the front on the drivers side. not one of my 6 airbags deployed and the seatbelts did not lock. the driver was like a ragdoll during our multiple 360's. the van is a total loss and back and neck pain is constant for both of us.

The check airbag light repeatedly comes on even though it has been in for repair several times. the dealer has reset the system, changed the wiring and replaced the passenger side air bag. however, the warning light remains lit. there is something wrong with honda's air bag safety system and they seem to not have the answer for it. *tr

My honda odyssey (2003 model with 21k miles) have the air-bag system failed for no reason (probably defect in manufacturing). the van has not been involved in any accident. for safety reason, it is imperative to have honda to check airbags function of others. as i know, 2005 odyssey has been recalled for airbag failure. *nm
AIR BAGS - FRONTAL

Tl-the contact owns a 2003 honda odyssey. the contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph on the highway when the drivers side and passenger airbags deployed unexpectedly. he then took the nearest exit when the airbags exploded again for a second time. after that he got out of the vehicle to make sure that no one had hit him to cause the air bags to deploy, but there was no sign of a impact. the vehicle was inspected by a dealer who informed the contact that they were unable to diagnose the failure and that it maybe a mechanical failure, but that the air bags should not have deployed unless there was a impact. the vehicle has not been repaired for the airbags. the failure mileage was approximately 67,200. tb

AIR BAGS - FRONTAL - DRIVER SIDE INFLATOR MODULE

Summary: wiring problem that could potentially cause air bag deployment when turning steering wheel. the wiring inside the cable reel assembly in the steering column of my 2003 honda odyssey came apart inside. this wiring include srs wiring as well as horn, lighting, and cruise control wiring. upon removal of this part all copper contacts to all wires were exposed and any wire could have shorted to any other wire -- this could potentially cause the steering wheel srs/air bag to be deployed while driving. contacts were constantly being tugged at whenever the steering wheel was turned. because the car has 42,000 miles and honda would not say they would pay to fix it, i repaired this myself in accordance with the honda service manual. i have pictures of the part, and have save the part in a zip-lock bag so that it can be analyzed. *jb

1 month ago, i took my friend to atlanta (about a 5 hr. trip) and the trip went smoothly until i dropped off my friend back in town. as soon as she left the car, i turned on the ignition, and the srs light stayed on . i took the car to the dealership to have it fixed. i don't know why my car acts this strange, , a week later after dealership fixed the problem, , the srs light came on again. so far , 3 times fixed. each time they told me a different diagnostic code for 3 different parts that i should have replaced. so far, i've replaced the driver's side airbag, the opds unit, and the srs harness. yesteday, when my husband drove to store , srs light came back again(exactly one week after 3rd time repaired) but this morning it was off. we made an appointmemt with dealership next tuesday for 4th time attemp.
