I would like to file a complaint regarding the 2007 model year for the honda odyssey. the car currently pulls to the right while driving on flat ground. there is a current issue with the way the plant assembled the struts and we are not the only ones who have been affected as i have looked online and found other drivers affected by the issue as well. *tr

2007 - 2010 honda odyssey owners are targeted to receive notification of a warranty extension to replace the power steering pump under certain conditions. i received the notice for my 2007 honda odyssey, suffered with the hard to turn condition (see tsb 10-076) and associated pump whining noise that is described in tsb 07-005 (defective pump reservoir). although the pump was extended warranty replaced at university motors (missoula) i was required to pay for the replacement of the reservoir ($66.08). my understanding is that the reservoir defect is what causes the pump to fail. i believe that a recall should be required and all owners that have been required to pay for the reservoir (or pump) should be 100% reimbursed. american honda automobile refused to reimburse for this replacement stating that the extended warranty applies only to the pump. please review huge complaint data base.

Power steering pump is failing to provide assistance at low engine speeds every time the vehicle is operated (not intermittent). condition makes it difficult and slow to manuever the vehicle during parking lot type maneuvers. the first time i experienced the condition was while parallel parking in the city during a time of heavy traffic. note: power steering reservoir was replaced under warranty after one year of ownership due to air ingestion problem. vehicle is a one owner and i can confirm that only honda power steering fluid has ever been used.

Dera sir: we bought this vehicle (honda odyssey, 2007) in may 2007 in michigan. since last 18 months, we have been experiencing serious issues with this vehicle. one issue was power steering (not able to maneuvering), i went to manchester honda, machester, ct. they changed the power steering unit twice in the last 12 months (i purchased extenede warranty, otherwise it would have been an expensive thing for me). again, i had same issue this week, then i went to joyce honda, denville, nj. they mentioned right side inner and outer tie rods loose and were completely worn out. they did mentiioned to me that it is dangaerous to drive this vehicle. they kept my vehicle overnight and installed a new part. i believe there is serious flaws in the design of this particle year model. today i am experienceing different problem, shaking engine at 40 mph. they did update the software but still there is problem in this vehicle. i apreciate if nha would take a look into this matter. i almost spent more than $10000 on this vehicle and i realized i bought a piece of junk from honda which i thought was a reliable maker.

Have chronically reported excessive force needed to turn steering wheel at low speeds. correction: honda is requesting that i flush power steering pump and change the reservoir.

Vehicle failed safety inspection because power steering is ineffective at low speeds. my daughter is learning to drive, and we cannot let her use the vehicle since she cannot control the steering while moving below 5 miles per hour. this problem is detailed in 2 honda technical service bulletins 07-005 and 10-076, but honda appears to be reluctant to admit a problem to customers.

I am a owner of honda odyssey 2007. we start to hear noise around 2008 winter after highway driving. then, we begin to experience the difficulty to turn wheel occasionally between 2008 to 2010. in 2011, the difficulty of turning wheel become more frequent at low speed, but managable. in june 2011, we experinced difficulty to turn wheel during a trip on highway driving. this incident made us to aware the problem of power steering pump. after searching the website, many honda odyssey owners complained the same problem and mentioned that honda installed the problematic power steering pump for their car since 2004, therefore a service bulletin 10-076 was announced by honda. please consider a recall service from honda to protect honda owners' safety during highway driving. thanks

Power stearing goes out at low speeds. sometimes it works fine other times it is out. contacted the dealer and they will not repair it because out of waranty. the dealer would fix it but at a cost. there is a service bulletin to notify their service people of the issue. the bulletin mentions a design flaw and what to do to repair it.

2007 honda odyssey ex power steering loss at low speeds (less than 10mph) especially when pulling in/out of a parking spot or doing a 3-point turn. also humming can be heard when steering at low speeds but it went away after i took the van to the dealership for the 60,000 mile scheduled maintenance service. i guess when they flushed the steering fluid and replaced it with new one it fixed the humming problem, but not the loss of power. there are a lot of complaints about this and i don't understand why honda is not doing anything to fix the problem. i also had several recalls fixed recently but none of them is about the steering problem.

2007 honda odyssey ex-l: power steering issues there is no power steering assist when parking and moving at low speeds. once you are moving at a slightly higher speed, it kicks in, but until then, it is as if you are driving with no power steering. power steering pump has been replaced multiple times. this is clearly a safety issue, as one can never tell whether there will be power steering or not.

2007 honda odyssey ex-l: purchased new from dealer, had problem with pulling to the left from the first days we owned it. we returned to the dealer who insisted it was normal and gave various reasons (torque, road crown, nothing at all). have had new tires, including replacing one that balded badly on the outside by 20,000 miles. have had multiple alignments. honda insists no issue, all within normal limits. car always pulls to the left unless we're driving on a heavily crowned road in the right lane. causes driver fatigue and has sometimes been a safety issue. this is a problem that is discussed over and over on various websites, including lots of do-it-yourselfers who have had good success with a very simple realignment of strut bearings. i can't believe a reputable company such as honda could allow this safety issue to continue unaddressed. please investigate this matter; there are many complaints already about this issue on the nhtsa forum. honda does not even acknowledge that this is an issue.

The filter in power steering fluid reservoir clogged. this caused the power steering fluid to aerate. the service technician stated that the aerated fluid will cause the power steering pump to fail, losing power steering.

My 2007 odyssey was brought back to the dealer at 35000 miles for a problem with a clicking noise and steering issue at low speeds. the dealer attributed the problem with the steering to a power steering service bulletin and the clicking wasn't evident out of the ordinary. as the steering seemed to be better, and the clicking was 'normal i took the vehicle back and drove it like it was for many more miles, until the clicking noise at around 68000 miles seemed really louder and more pronounced. the dealer now attributed the noise to a faulty axle and replaced it at a cost to me of around $200.00 (1/2 price). now, about 5000 miles later, the steering is extremely bad at low speed and now the dealer tells me the power steering fluid is leeking and the cost to repair is nearly $1500.00. this issue is a design problem as it has been noticible on mine and other people's vehicles which is evident by the complaints almost exactly like mine. honda should recall this vehicle for a faulty power steering pump and take ownership of the problem.

We first became aware of the problem with our odyssey when the low-speed steering (e.g. navigating parking spaces) became very difficult, as if the power steering were off. we took it to the dealer and they said they cleaned the power steering system as per a service bulletin. about two months later we noticed that after driving the van for at least approximately 20 miles, the power steering pump made an audible hum or whirring that could be heard at low speeds. the noise would change pitch along with the engine. sometimes, the low-speed steering would again be difficult, but not to the same extreme as before and far less often. when we took it back to the dealer they reported that a seal was broken in the steering rack and that the pump also had to be replaced. we were told that not replacing both these items, at a cost of $2500.00, could lead to power steering loss and cause a dangerous situation. so we had no choice but to replace these items even though the van only had 50,000 miles on it when the problem first became noticeable.

2007 honda odyssey: car continually pulls to the left during all speeds. corrects itself after steering hard right (drives straight). when i then turn left, car retains memory steer and continues to pull to the left. had car into honda service five times. changed a tire, did alignment, they never noticed pull, etc. tired of repeat visits to honda without results. many other published complaints with similar issue by others.

2007 honda odyssey has memory steer, after making a left hand turn the car pull dramatically to the left, this could possibly cause a head on collision with oncoming traffic. had honda dealer align, said the van is in all of honda's specs and all front components are in good shape. this is a family car and i fear for the safty of my family while driving it. i understand that all cars have there issues but when it comes to the safty of the occupants or the public sharing the road this issue should be addressed and recalled. there are many complants of this found online (ex. edmunds.com town hall), it seems honda is ignoring this issue and not taking into consideration the possible harm that can be caused.

After installing new set of 4 tires for my honda odyssey and have the tires balance and align by professional goodyears service mechanics. i can feel the mini van keep pulling to the left pretty fast and dangerously. i talk to the wheel shops manager, and there is nothing they can do since the wheel alignment is fine. after looking at this issues online, i see lots of people who own 2007 honda odyssey have the same issues and turn out to be issues with the factory installed spring and strut that need to be aligned and fixed. i almost got into an accident due to the car sudden turn to the left without any kind of warning on hwy 85.

2007 honda odyssey steering continually pulls to the right. most noticeable at speeds above 45 mph. issue has been occuring for three years, since i bought the van new from honda dealership. this is well documented across the internet, especially the forum on edmunds: http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f17a7b3/0 (refer to post #23 and more specifically it looks like the struts were assembled wrong from the factory as seen on post #103).

In 2008, had my 2007 honda odyssey touring was serviced by gilroy honda due to a faulty power steering pump. at that time, they had replaced the faulty pump as it was found to be causing the sticky driving during slow speeds. this issue is not noticed on high speeds since there are no big/wide turns needed at that speed. the van is normally driven by my wife and i seldom use it. i recently used it (2nd week of oct '10) when i have to take the van to gilroy honda for a regular service. during that time, i noticed a very sticky steering at low speeds. very similar to what i noticed in 2008. i also noticed that at low speeds, it tends to pull towards the right. i also notice that it is very difficult to get out of a tight spot (like in a parking lot) because of this. i was worried about it since my wife is driving it everytime and that she might hit something or somebody during a slow maneuver. i complained about it to gilroy honda but they said they will not replace it for me as it is no longer under warranty. i asked whether or not they have a recall about this but said no. i think this has to be a safety recall as it can lead to crash or even worse injuries.

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 honda odyssey. the contact stated that left side sliding door and the right front passenger door failed to unlock intermittently. she had to climb over to the other side or turn off the vehicle and restart it to get out the vehicle. additionally, she noticed repeated problems with the steering; the vehicle would not hold an alignment and would drift to the side. also, periodically, there was a grinding noise when she attempted to stop, as if she were driving on gravel. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership several times where the tires were rotated and alignment was performed regarding the suspension problem. the dealer also installed a seal on the door but the failure continued. in reference to the brake problem, the dealer could not duplicate the failure but did attempt repairs which did not remedy the problem. the contact called the manufacturer who stated that they could not assist her. current mileage was approximately 36,950. the failure mileage was approximately 20,500-bk

Power steering is non-existent at parking speeds. while parking, turning or maneuvering at very slow speeds, the only way to turn the car is to muscle the steering wheel around. power steering engages as speed increases. mentioned numerous times to dealer and they claim that is the way a van drives. the vehicle already was repaired from lack of oil placed in steering colume when it was built. lack of manufacturer response is concerning me. my fathers 2006 had same problem and he was told honda uses a biggerscreen now somewhere in the steering pump and it is a known problem.

2007 honda odyssey pulls hard right after right turn and hard left after left turn. this is a major driving hazard as the vehicle has the potential to pull off the road very quickly or into other vehicles if the steering is not constantly corrected. i bought a used cpo honda odyssey in august of 2010, and we noticed this pulling problem right off the lot. on a flat surface after a right or left turn, the vehicle will change lanes in 3 seconds if not corrected. we have taken this vehicel to the dealership 2 times, and they tried many things to no avail (tire rotations, alignment, tire deflations, etc...). i asked them to check the suspension and struts because a person posted an unofficial fix online that deals with improperly aligned struts that worked. the service advisor claimed that they removed the struts and the problem was fixed. however, the problem is not fixed, and actually the problem seems worse now. i am pretty sure they did not remove the struts at all since i requested to see the struts when they were removed and they did not show them to me at all. the service advisor and two technicians experienced this problem when they rode along on test drives with me, but the are claiming that the issue well within the specs defined by honda. they continue to exclaim that there is nothing else they can do. there has to be a way to fix this, but it seems that they do not want to spend the money to fix the problem properly. my concern is that this is a major safety hazard, and i am worried that my family of five may be involved in a catastrophic accident because the pulling problem is so bad. please help my family and all the other honda odyssey owners who are having this pulling / alignment problem get a proper fix by issuing a recall that requires honda to confess to the issue officially and fix the problem once and for all before something catastrophic happens.

Vehicle had memory steer. wandered left quickly if wheel is not held tightly. may pull right if last turn was to the right. hard steering in general. sore wrists after driving 60 minutes on freeway due to holding on to wheel tightly to stay in lane on freeway. owned the van less than 1 month at time of travel. purchased used. two alignments performed and no change. upon further inspection found upper strut rubber components not correctly installed on oem struts on vehicle. disassembled struts and re-installed coil spring rubber on struts correctly, realigned tires again, and problem seems to have been corrected. no new parts needed to correct as old parts were functional but had not been installed correctly according to honda technical service manual.

Noticed a ticking noise around the steering wheel when driving in the a.m. for over a year. have had issues with steering while pulling into tight spots or sharp turns for a while. have always equate it to bad tires (which was recently replaced) or low tire pressure. on a visit to honda for another repair, had asked them to look into the noise issue. was told that the power steering pump was bad. had to pay for repair. was informed that it has nothing to do with the power steering resevoir that was covered under warranty. does not makes sense that we've had this issue for well over a year that it's not a part issue. can not recall when the steering was ever as good as it is once the pump was replaced.

2007 honda odyssey- for the past 6-8 months at slow speeds when parking and turning, the power steering appears to quit working. when you get up to speed the problem goes away. this makes it difficult to exit the roadway from a dead stop and almost impossible to park or leave a parking spot. i fear being rear ended or worse. local dealer knows of no problems reported. vehicle is out of warranty (46,000 miles).

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 honda odyssey. the contact stated that the steering wheel made a loud winding noise whenever he was driving at a highway speed of approximately 60 mph. when the contact was driving in the city, the steering wheel didn't make noise. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they were unable to duplicate the failure. the honda manufacturer was called and stated that there was no related warranty or recall and to take it back to the dealer. the vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer more than one time and they still cannot duplicate the failure. the failure mileage was 14,998.

2 complaints, first one is the power steering pump went at 35000 miles. honda did replace it under warranty. but the pump in now at 60,000 miles is going bad. second complaint, the front left hub bearing went bad way too early, 50,000 miles. this is a very dangerous problem. called honda and the local honda dealership several times and received no help at all. they would not cover this part or the workmanship to replace it. now at 65,000 miles the van is making the same noise so i am assuming another hub bearing is going bad. i have never purchase a honda before this one, i will never buy another. *tr

2007 honda odyssey. when at a slow speed, the power steering pump may not be operating at power and you lose almost all, if not all power steering assist. it has nearly caused an accident for me turning into driveways and parking spaces multiple times already (at least 3 incidents that were near-misses). upon reporting the issue to honda, it was difficult to duplicate in a limited test and i was simply told that was normal in my vehicle. there are dozens of reports with over a hundred people just in one internet forum for honda odyssey owners and this is apparently an issue with 2006 through 2009 models, and possibly even 2010 models. honda has reportedly replaced power steering pumps, power steering fluid reservoirs, and a few other components for those who had warranties, although it appears the issue remains or is only resolved until 10k - 20k miles later when it resurfaces. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 honda odyssey. in march 2009, she noticed a noise around the wheel. she took the vehicle to the dealer and the left wheel bearing was repaired. in december 2009, she noticed the same sound along with a transmission issue which she noted as difficulty shifting. she stated that at low speeds, she actually lost power steering capabilities and had difficulty turning. she took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the power steering pump was defective; the torque converter was replaced as well in reference to the issue with the transmission. the repair did not remedy the failure. the vehicle had not been repaired to-date for the power steering problem. the manufacturer stated that they would assist with the transmission repairs since it was still under warranty; however, they refused to repair the power steering at no charge. they offered her 25% off the repair costs. the current mileage was approximately 59,000. the failure mileage was approximately 41,000. updated 02/13/10 *bf updated 02/16/10.*jb updated 02/18/10.*jb

2007 honda odyssey braking system not working good only less than 10k. mile steering start shaking and dealer told us it is warp they charge me $99 for resurfacing rotor but after another 10k it come back again and my car steering is getting heavy again even dealer replace that already. i assume that honda vsa or abs not working properly some how when honda lost very important life at highway accidents might they do something on this miserable happen. what kind car need to be resurfacing rotor every 10k mile and even i did that still on highway 70 mile drive steering make shaking and vibrating even it's resurfaced rotor. *tr

I own a 2007 honda odyssey and have been having problems with my brakes for some time. they feel very soft and spongy when i step on them; my foot sinks all the way to the floor. there have been numerous instances where i have almost hit another vehicle because the brakes do not respond. the brakes also grind very hard and sound very loud when i come to a complete stop at the bottom of a hill. also, when i try to stop or slow the van when traveling at high speeds (such as highway driving), my steering wheel vibrates violently. i have taken the van to the mechanic and have been told that my brake pads are fine (50% front, 60% rear), but that my rotors have worn prematurely. i also had problems with my power steering--i took the van in for service because i had a difficult time maneuvering the van in tight situations (parking)--it turns out that my power steering pump was not operating and needed to be replaced (at 36,267 miles)--267 miles over the honda new car warranty. *tr

Honda odyssey. after approximately 30 minutes of driving, the power steering pump whines, buzzes or hums. honda issued a bulletin (honda service bulletin 07-005 applicable to all 05-07 and some 08 vans) stating the power steering pump reservoir is defective, requiring a new pump, filter and fluid. however, they will only provide replacement if under warranty. my concern is the metal shaving or other particles my impact the steering and cause the driver to loose control. *tr

Many times, the 2007 odyssey will pull to the left . i constantly need to fight the steering wheel to keep the car straight. i have almost hit other cars because of the steering problem. i have brought the car to honda twice and had it aligned twice, had the tires rotated and test driven twice with no help. the car continues to pull to the left. i have read on the internet, that other odyssey owners have similar complaints.
