Paint chipped on the outside the size of a dinner plate on the roof above the windshield. no reason.

The lift gate gas filled struts on our 2007 honda odyssey have failed. the lift gate will not stay open to pack the van for trips and requires some sort of prop to stay open. the gate has fallen twice off the prop and hit me, not seriously, but it hurt. it's heavy. i see that later models have a recall associated with similar problems but the 2007 does not as of yet.  I cut and pasted part of another complaint as this complaint perfectly explains my complaint. the right rear passenger intermittently fails to open or close. this occurs when using the remote, driver buttons, or the door handles (interior & exterior). it appears to jump off the track. we have had it looked at by a honda 5 times. i bought it used from the dealership and it was a certified, pre owned honda. the 4th time i took it in they replaced the replaced the harness and pinch center in may 8, 2012. they said the middle roller was broken as well and that was replaced in february 2012. but i am still having trouble. this morning when i brought it in to look at it, the door made the loud popping sound it sometimes makes after i have tried to open it for a long time without success. the technician saw it but like all of them, he just looked dumbfounded and did not appear to know what to do. i mentioned others have complained about the doors on this site and they did not seem to care. the most aggravating thing is that when i bring it in to the shop to be seen, the door always works for the honda guys so it looks like i am crazy.

The tailgate of my van, didn't stay open. as soon as i leave my hand from it, instead of staying open, it just came down and closed. i was nearly hurt..... i talked to american honda, and they didn't think this is worthy of recall. even though, 2008 honda odyssy has a similiar defect and they have issued recall. but not for 2007 model.

While driving on the highway at about 65mph , the passenger side sliding door glass window shattered. there were no vehicle on that side of the van. the incident occurred in the houston area approx 5-6 miles after starting to drive from a covered parking garage . the outside temperature was around 90 deg f. the vehicle was taken to a honda dealer for inspection. the local honda rep refused to entertain the request as a manufacturing defect. a case n012012-08-230-0553 was opened with american honda customer care and i was promised that a rep would call me by end of day friday . however, no one called. there are several incidents reported like this on the internet , not just for the van but for other honda vehicles as well. also , a recall has recently been issued for 2800 2011 honda odyssey vans for a similar problem with front driver and passenger windows. the ignorance on the part of honda to acknowledge this problem concerns me because any of my family members sitting in that seat would have been gravely hurt . here are some links to some other discussion forums where people have been discussing this issue. http://www.consumeraffairs.com/automotive/honda_windshield.html http://www.honda.com/newsandviews/article.aspx?id=5950-en http://www.piloteers.org/forums/14-problems/15332-shattered-window-while-driving-print.html http://www.odyclub.com/forums/9-problems-concerns/972-anyones-sliding-door-window-shattering.html

Purchased this honda new in december 2006. no problems with it till this incident. both back wheels started making terrible noises. a grinding and screeching sound at all speeds. i asked a few friends who have the same vehicle and they said they had to replace both rear bearings on their vehicle. i took the vehicle to the honda dealer and that is exactly what it was. both rear bearings. i can hardly imagine one bearing going bad on a modern vehicle. both bearings tells me something is wrong with the product. i believe this could be a significant and dangerous problem for all honda odyssey's on the road. it is clearly a defective rear bearing. i contacted honda regarding this and the representative i spoke with said there was currently no recall regarding this. they were very polite and pleasant to deal with. i expressed my concern, but feel that effort was inadequate. i also searched for this issue on a couple of automobile forums online. i found hundreds of references to this issue. so i do not believe it is an isolated incident. thank you for ensuring that our roads and the vehicles we drive remain safe! please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Tailgate struts stopped working. tailgate will not stay in upright position. there is a recall on the 2008-2009 models with power tailgate lift (nhtsa action number pe11034) but not on 2007 models with manual lift.

Truck tailgate holder failed and hit driver on the back. it slammed closed and would not stay open.
06/11/201235000
The rear tailgate struts on my honda odyssey van failed once i opened it. the heavy tailgate began to close on me while i was under it and had i not noticed it coming down it would have crushed me. i'm elderly and struggled with the weight of the tailgate as i caught it. the passenger-side strut completely failed, leaking some kind of fluid out of it and the driver-side strut is also leaking. these leaks and failures were sudden as i had recently washed the van a day before and did not find any leaks when i cleaned the tailgate.

The right rear passenger intermittenly fails to open or close. this occurs when using the remote, driver buttons, or the door handles (interior & exterior). it appears to jump off the track. we have had it looked at by a honda dealer no less than 3 times. i know of two other people who have the same problem with their 2007 odyssey.

Excessive shuddering / jarring with 2007 honday odyssey touring model. problem was recognized when initially purchases used from luther honda in hopkins, mn. they said it was an engine mount issue and replaced one of the engine mounts. problem still exists with shuddering/jarring occuring when the eco system kicks in and out.

While driving in heavy raining conditions or flow of water pool, on roadway or hwy, vehicle wants to shut off displaying no charging, like i have no power for a few seconds. twice this occurred on hwy speed 70+ or 25-30 +, on roadway with heavy rain and flow of water pool splash during turn vehicle shut off and power up within approximately 3-5 seconds. i was able to move over to the off road medium and regain engine power. this has happen numerous times in the course of 2 yrs. bringing vehicle to honda dealership which they cant repeat complaint even with hosing engine belt with water,,though the tech stated many customers has reported this during raining conditions. note no power steering due to this event. ret nypd

2007 - 2010 honda odyssey owners are targeted to receive notification of a warranty extension to replace the power steering pump under certain conditions. i received the notice for my 2007 honda odyssey, suffered with the hard to turn condition (see tsb 10-076) and associated pump whining noise that is described in tsb 07-005 (defective pump reservoir). although the pump was extended warranty replaced at university motors (missoula) i was required to pay for the replacement of the reservoir ($66.08). my understanding is that the reservoir defect is what causes the pump to fail. i believe that a recall should be required and all owners that have been required to pay for the reservoir (or pump) should be 100% reimbursed. american honda automobile refused to reimburse for this replacement stating that the extended warranty applies only to the pump. please review huge complaint data base.

Rear liftgate struts on 2007 honda odyssey experienced sudden failure causing the rear liftgate to suddenly close on me when standing under it. struts are manufactured by stabilus part # 6826ur 0810n 334/06 c7. the part number is 74820-shj-a012. there was a previous safety recall for the 2005 honda odyssey for this same issue. the nhtsa action number ea08015. there is no recall notice for the 2007 sudden strut failure.

When i open the liftgate it does not hold up. the tailgate gas strut has failed i only have 33000 miles on it.

The power liftgate on my 2007 honda odyssey touring minivan started opening partially, and within three days the liftgate would not hold door open. power struts failed and hit my son and daughter in back as they were climbing into van. no recalls on file for my year model, but have seen several other complaints for the same problem.

Dera sir: we bought this vehicle (honda odyssey, 2007) in may 2007 in michigan. since last 18 months, we have been experiencing serious issues with this vehicle. one issue was power steering (not able to maneuvering), i went to manchester honda, machester, ct. they changed the power steering unit twice in the last 12 months (i purchased extenede warranty, otherwise it would have been an expensive thing for me). again, i had same issue this week, then i went to joyce honda, denville, nj. they mentioned right side inner and outer tie rods loose and were completely worn out. they did mentiioned to me that it is dangaerous to drive this vehicle. they kept my vehicle overnight and installed a new part. i believe there is serious flaws in the design of this particle year model. today i am experienceing different problem, shaking engine at 40 mph. they did update the software but still there is problem in this vehicle. i apreciate if nha would take a look into this matter. i almost spent more than $10000 on this vehicle and i realized i bought a piece of junk from honda which i thought was a reliable maker.

Component failure: a/c condenser, due to small object hitting it. a/c no longer works and dealer wants $1,000 to repair. this is a problem that honda has known about since 2004 at least, i.e., the a/c condenser is susceptible to damage from small road objects (stones mostly). honda refuses to acknowledge their fault, claiming damage is accidental. my position is that this is a design flaw that honda was aware of and could have easily prevented. in 2008 model year, honda covered the condenser with a shield to prevent further problems. my dealer is offering to add this shield for $70.00 (in addition to the $1,000 repair bill) to prevent further occurences. this may not be a safety problem but it surely smacks of a consumer rip-off. honda poorly designed the shielding for the condenser, knew about the problem for years (just google the issue), and then allowed its dealers to charge $1,000 for the problem they created. obviously, the delaers are happy with this common problem. extended warranty does not cover this repair either. honda claims the damage is like a stone hitting the windshield. however, the purpose of the windshield is to prevent a stone from hitting the car's occupants; no one would argue honda is responsible for the windshield doing the job it was intended to do by preventing a stone from hitting the occupants. with regard to the condenser, honda could easily have prevented the problem by placing a shield over the affected part(s). it chose not to with the full understanding this common problem would cost its customers hundreds of thousand (if not millions) of dollars to repair.

Honda odyssey 2007 tail gate strut problem. it has been observed over the net that the honda odyssey tail gate gas lift dies after about 32000 to 39000 miles. our died at 42000 miles. can you please keep record for this complaint and see if this helps to make sure that manufacture can provide some better parts. thanks!!!

I have a 2007 honda odyssey and the sliding doors do not latch properly, which could open while driving with my children sitting in the car. i get an audible chime telling me a door is ajar, but no warning light on the dash. when i come to a stop by hitting the breaks i hear the door finally close. this is a very scary knowing that i could be driving down the interstate and my doors could slide open at anytime. i have taken my car to the dealership numerous times in which they have replaced a failed door latch and tightened the chain and the problem still has not been corrected. i have seen many issues with this in other forums and i wonder what it is going to take for a recall to be issued.

My 2007 honda odyssey has a problem with memory steer. when you make a turn to the left them the car has a problem with pulling to the left. when you make a turn to the right then the car has a problem with pulling to the right. this condition seems to be worse to the left. this is a major problem. the vehicle will change lanes into oncoming traffic or head toward the ditch very quickly. this condition caused driver fatigue in that you have to constantly grip the steering wheel tightly fighting against the pull of the car causing you wrist and hand to hurt on longer drives (over 30 to 60 minutes).
06/19/200926005
Strong pulling/drifting to right. driver must use constant strength to keep car driving straight or will end up in the next lane within about 6 seconds. can be more difficult than usual to keep van steering straight when looking over shoulder to switch lanes. have accidentally pulled close to others, causing them to honk for fear we were coming into their lane next to them. had van in to dealership 4 times and they will only check tire position, brand, tread, and alignment and have not fixed the problem. hundreds of others talking about this problem online with same lack of fix from dealers.

When i turn or go straight, with and without brakes on, at a slow speed, i hear a loud horn-like sound. seems to be coming from front. i only have about 21,000 miles and bought it new. this problem has been happening most of the time we've owned it (almost 3 years). dealer can't make the problem happen. i even left it overnight. it usually happens when i leave home. i make short trips to school and store. it is sporatic. i heard another odyssey with the same noise pulling into a parking spot the other day. is this common? it is annoying and embarrassing. it can be quite loud. since i've had the recall done, it's not as frequent.

I own a 2007 honda odyssey ex-l. last may, i received two seperate recall notices for pcm update for lock-up clutch function and for low and soft break pedal. there was a delay in taking my van to a dealer because i was on a military deployment. my deployment ended last month and that's when i took my van to get service (recalls). a month had past since i took my van for the recall but the break problem still persist and i think it's getting worst. the breaks is very soft and the pedal is very low when i step on it. sometimes i have to pump my breaks twice just to feel the break. i sent honda customer service a letter requesting another authorization to have my breaks check and service again. honda's solution to fix the problem did not work. the honda dealer bled, seal and cap the break system on my van but it did not solve the problem. this issue should be look at again before someone gets hurt or lose their lives.

Driving the car the brake pedal gets very soft and the vehicle fails to stop in a normal time. this car was already serviced for honda's 2010 soft brake repair on the 2007-08 odyssey. it seems the symptoms of the original recall are still evident as this recall relates to air in the brake line over time.

2007 honda odyssey van. we noticed two small stains on the carpet in the rear storage area, where the 3rd row seats can be stored. we tried to clean the carpet with resolve, but that made the stains bigger. when we vacuumed the carpet, we found an oily residue with the consistency of lithium grease in the vacuum attachment. we removed the rear seats and folded the carpeting back. there's a gray panel of soundproofing or something else at the bottom of the cargo area, and that panel is disintegrating, leaving behind a tarry residue. the tarry residue is what leached up through the carpet to cause the stain. i don't know why the panel itself is disintegrating. we purchased the car used from a dealer in april 2010, and first noticed the problem in july 2010.

I have a 2007 ex with 13,000 miles and both of the tailgate (hatch) struts just failed suddently on 08/15/2010. there should be some additional safety mechanism on these so that they just don't collapse and cause harm (the hatch almost slam my 7-years old son on the head). both can not go bad at one time and either one should support some weight. it is quite dangerous. these liftgate struts should be recalled before bad things happen. honda should stand behind what they put in these cars

Rear tailgate struts fail on 2007 honda oddessy, causing tailgate to suddenly crash down. children were in the vicinity and could have been killed. i took the car to a honda dealer, and the dealer said it is a common problem. there are also many instances of this problem mentioned on various internet sites. the 2005 oddessy has been recalled for a similar problem. if someone has not been killed already, someone will be killed if this issue is not soon addressed on a large scale.

I have a 2007 model honda odyssey van. on december 2008 i run over a road debri, last week 6/15/10 my van ac stopped working. i went to honda service center, they are telling my van condenser is damaged due, even though it is under warrenty. they don't cove the this. it seems this is a common problem in honday vans.

2007 honda odyssey ex ac compressor had to be replaced after road debris (a small rock) punctured it. the car has less than 40,000 miles and is only driven on main city roads. the total cost of this repair, which was not covered uder the warranty was over $800 including towing. i have looked on the internet and it seems that many people have had this problem which is never covered by the warranty - even though there seems to be a flaw in the design. the claims are that the ac compressor is not properly protected and is in the front of the vehicle engine where it is more likely to be exposed to normal road debris.

My 2007 honda oddysey has been shuddering for a long time had it to the dealership 2-3 times and they could not find anything wrong with it or get the problem to happen there. my lease is almost up and we thought of buying the van because we are way over our miles but not with this problem for fear it is the transmission. it shudders between 30-40mph or on an incline

I was driving odyssey along with my kids on a single lan,e city road at the speed of ~35 miles/hour. i rear ended the car, which resulted in 3 car collision. i got distracted from the road for 2-3 sec, when i got attention back on the i saw a car stopped for left turn (no left turnout). i pushed my breaks as hard as i could, but couldn

I was driving my 2007 honda odyssey. as i was coming to a stop, i became involved in an accident. over the recent weeks i thought it was taking longer to stop my van, but had my van in for service the week before. i was assure that everything was fine and all fluid levels were correct. ***note: on my first service visit the service adviser told me that i should not be concerned about brake fluid levels that the van would notify me when it was time to replace the breaks and that the van was designed to do so. the police were called to the scene of the accident. i could not explain the accident and the officer coaxed me in to saying that i had been distracted. i was in shock. my son was in the car with me and i could not think much of anything else other than whether he was safe. i believe i had come to a complete stop then hit the vehicle in front of me. my airbags did not deploy. ever since the accident i have continued to notice that i must press the brake pedal all the way to the floor at times to stop the van and other times i don't in normal driving circumstances. all along i had believed the dealership that everything was fine with my vehicle. now i have damages to pay and a ticket i am facing as a result of what i believe to be break failure. i will be making a follow-up report with my local police department, faxing a copy other similar break failure complaints to my insurance company, contacting honda and hopefully will be able to get some answers on the problem with my van. *tr
