Frame on vehicle was deemed unrepairable by local hoda dealership, due to recall on vehicle. after consulting legal angle found that there is a 10 year window on car makers backing their product. ironic that the recall came out after 10 years, honda knew of this very, very dangerous situation way before the 10 year window but did nothing. the frame on this car literally was close to completely flying off, and soon that will cause severe injury not only to owners of that model car but also others involved. honda did nothing to try and buy out owners, they just want the vehicles off the road to eliminate their resposibilites in any lawsuit that may come from this faulty equipment.

I had to junk my honda passport because the bracket that held the wheel to the frame detached due to corrosion which i was told would not be safe if attempted to repair it. two yrs later there is a recall for that exact thing. how is it possible that honda claims the could fix this when no one else could and why will they not compensate for my loss. sorry but an eight yr old car should not just fall apart.

I was driving my 2000 honda passport in a parking lot when the frame snapped in the back. honda has recalled the bracket but not the frame. they are claiming it's not the manufacturers fault that the frame rotted away due to the salt that is used on the roads in the winter. the frame on my passport is completely rotted with no way of fixing it.

I have a honda passport 2000 with a severely rotted frame. it is not in drivable condition due to its rotted frame. i am putting out over 2 grand to replace the frame even though i believe that it is a defect from honda manufacturer. it is definitely not safe to drive on the road because the frame is completely fallen apart. this honda passport model needs to be on recall entirely because there are other honda passport owners that are experiencing the same situation.

On august 23, 2010 my 17 year old daughter was driving my 2000 honda passport entering interstate 75 in ohio when she heard a loud noise and it felt like the car was on spinning on ice. she thought that it was going to roll over because it went up on 2 wheels, luckily she was able to get it stopped before anything serious happened. at the time she was only going about 30 miles an hour. had she been going the speed limit of 65 miles an hour when this happened i am afraid she would not have been so lucky. there was no warning for i had just driven the car and everything seemed just fine. the car is in good condition except for the frame which is completely rusted out. the rear drivers side stabilizer bar broke away from the frame due to rust. the whole frame is rusted with holes that you can stick your fingers through. this car is now junk. i am very upset at honda for not acknowledging that this is a problem and recalling this vehicle. my daughter could have died. we now have a piece of junk sitting in our driveway.

I took my car to a mechanic last week because i was having to put brake fluid in it. i thought maybe i had a leak. the mechanic called me back and said i wouldn't drive that car anymore. it has excessive corrosion underneath. the frame is broke at least in one spot and the back is about to break into and come up through the floorboard. this is my only vehicle and i have to drive it. i don't know what to do. i just can't understand. i know that i live in a somewhat wintry area, but i am fanatical about keeping my car cleaned. the vehicle is only 12 years old. my husband has a subaru that's almost 20 years old and has 272000 miles on it. its no where near rusted like mine. i know that there was a recall on 2001-2002 honda passports for this reason but year 2000 wasn't involved in that. i definitely think that it should have been. you would never believe my undercarriage unless you look at it. please help me to get some kind of help with this issue. i found a forum online and there is a lot more people with this same problem. *tr
