2004 honda pilot suv 9/9/2008 front ac blower resistor replaced $230 (miles 68,197, also had 100 miles bumper to bumper warrenty but was told by dealer it was not covered. 1/25/2013 (miles 134,000) front ac air mix motor replaced $501,rear ac/heat does not work was still in 100 mile warrenty it has a bad blower resistor i still have not replaced it. to top it off when it rains my driver and now front passenger floor mats are getting wet from the underneath the protective mat (miles 105,000)! your attention to this above matter is most appreciated.

We first noticed in oct. 2012 that the carpet and mat floor boards on both the front driver and passenger sides of our car were wet with water. it is now dec. 2012 and the problem has worsened. the wet carpet is causing a mildew smell in our car which we cannot get rid of, as the carpets are getting wetter each time it rains. the car also fogs up constantly due to the inside moisture, making visibility extrememly difficult. once the temperature drops the wet floors are sure to freeze, thus causing another hazzard: slippery feet near the break and accelerator. it is reasonable to suppose that there will be rust and eventual deteriation if the problem is not fixed. there seems to be a structural problem with the car on both sides where there is water dripping in from possibly the wheel well or right above the wheel well. in looking on line, we see several honda pilots and ridgelines with exactly the same problem, improper structural seals breaking down and causing water to drip onto the floorboards of the car. honda is aware of the problem (we called our dealership) but will only fix it if the car is still under warranty. seeing that this is a safety issue, and a known common structural problem with the car, it would seem to me that honda should fix the problem.

Pulled vehicle into a service shop. turned off vehicle and removed key from ignition to take key off ring for technician. vehicle was not in park but still in drive even though i was able to remove key. a minute after leaving vehicle car rolled down slight incline and into and across 3 lanes of busy 40mph traffic. two vehicles slammed on their brakes amazingly missing broadsiding the vehicle. a second change in the timing would have certainly resulted in three car accident and potentially serious injuries.

Apparently i did not place the car in park but was able to take the keys out of the ignition. left the car and when i came back to the car, the car had rolled backward and crashed into bushes which stopped the car. this has happened to me twice. i now make sure i engage the parking brake to make sure the car does not roll.

The shift interlock allowed the key to be removed without the pilot being in park. this caused the pilot to roll backwards in a parking lot. luckily the lot was fairly flat, so it didn't roll far or hit anything (or anybody!). a honda dealer confirmed the issue, and contacted honda about it. honda said they wouldn't fix the issue due to the mileage, and the fact that i purchased the vehicle used (from carmax).

Stopped vehicle, turned off vehicle and removed key. later got into car and started it up found it. attempted again not in park and it was able to replicate it. took vehicle to dealer, they were able to replicate it, wanted almost $850.00 to repair and was told it was not considered a safety issue so there was no recall. they recommend the mechanical portion of the ignition switch be repaired. unable to afford the repair so still occurring. current mileage is 118,000+ miles.

My 2004 honda pilot has been making a grinding/shuddering noise. doesn't do it all the time, but usually when i'm going 35-40 mph. if i accelerate, the noise will stop. can't duplicate it always, but sounds like something is seriously wrong in the transmission. many, many other reports online of the exact same problem.

Rumble strip noise at 35 to 40 mile per hour. taken it to dealer several times. tech has heard it. tried to tell me it was windshield molding. will not do anything about this problem. i have 2 hondas, they will be my last purchase from honda

Started at approx. 70,000 miles. car shutters/vibrates (as though going over a soft rumble strip) when going approx. 45 mph. stops once i let off gas or accelerate. initially happened only once in a while. now it happens consistently.

My 2004 honda pilot has a shudder at 30 mph. it feels as though you are driving over the rumble strips. i am starting to experience poor shifts at other speeds now as well. i understand that the problem is most likely the result of a faulty torque converter. repairs include replacing the torque converter and the transmission as well as updating the pcm. honda recalled over a million 2003/2004 pilots but my vin is just passed the last vin recalled. however, there are many 2005 pilot owners experiencing the exact same failure. acura also issued a service bulletin that repairs the faulty components for all 2003 and 2004 mdx owners (inside and outside of warranty). honda should take responsibility for the failed transmissions in the later 2004 pilots and 2005 years as well.

On-board diagnostic system information code p0740 on 10/24/2009 at 110,326 miles and again on 09/15/2011 at 162,313 miles. dealer replaced 4th gear pressure switch at ~$265 each occurrence. transmission replacement was also a proposed option. this is a widespread problem which is demonstrated after warranty expiration and there is no honda recall or technical service bulletin that addresses this. buyers rarely receive financial assistance from honda. the recall no. p30 does not cover all the vehicles that exhibit this problem. transmission failure during operation would likely cause injury to both person and property.

On my 2004 honda pilot, the srs (airbag) warning indicator light on the dashboard mysteriously remains on even though there have been no other changes to the vehicle. the honda dealer wants $80 just to look at it! this is outrageous; it's clearly a failed component that should be covered under the safety portion of the vehicle's warrantee for the lifetime of the vehicle. there are many other honda owners who have experienced this warning light and they report it is nearly always a failed passenger seat sensor that honda is replacing under a tsb; however my local dealer claims to know nothing of the tsb and want me to pay for this.

2004 hoda pilot shakes when you brake on the highway going over 50 mph. the steering wheel also shakes when you go around a curve at 40 mph or more.

Defective shift interlock allowed the ignition key to be removed while vehicle was parked and left in gear. the unoccupied vehicle rolled approximately twenty feet, coming to rest after contacting a parked vehicle (vehicle #2). owner of vehicle #2 was loading bags into her trunk and was warned by a bystander to get out of the way- which prevented her from being hit by the rolling vehicle. no injuries were reported, and damage to the vehicles was negligible. police were called and they responded. information was exchanged between the vehicle operators. it should be noted that this defect was the subject of a recall for other honda vehicles (accord, civic, others) in late 2010.

The paint started peeling about a year and a half ago (oct, '09) on the right passenger door of my 2004 midnight blue pearl honda pilot, at first in such a small area i considered its cause to be the occasional 'flying rock ding'. then it stated peeling on the right rear fender approximately a year ago, and i began to take more notice. about three months ago it started peeling off in large sheets on multiple areas on the car (two passenger doors, rear fender, tailgate). i contacted american honda, and although the local agent admitted that there was a problem with the midnight blue pearl paint mixture used on the 2004 odysseys (and hence, the extended warranty on that color paint on the odysseys), there was no bulletin on the honda pilots and therefore, nothing would be done.

We own a 2004 honda pilot ex. we've noticed the drivers side seat warmer has been getting extremely warm to the point where it was burning us through our pants which has been happening since early november 2010. on december 26, 2010, we started the car, turned on the seat warmer and left the car for 10 minutes to go back into the house. when we came back outside and opened the car door, we smelled smoke and noticed it was coming from the drivers side seat. it also left a brown spot. had we not come to the car at that time, we belive it would've started a fire had it sat there for another few minutes. we are not currently using the seat warmer until we bring it in to have it checked.

Honda dealer indicated during routine oil change that front engine mount is cracked and needs to be replaced. the engine mount is one of the very important parts that secure the engine and honda must take action to ensure that the part is safe and not creak and get weak. this is a serious safety hazard and honda should make an effort to invistigate and recall and replace the engine mount in all those vehicals which are affected.
