I took it in for a recall. i was told that the front and right engine mounts are cracked. at about 25-45 mph there is a noticeable shudder under the hood. in searching the nhtsa database i find many other reports of this shudder and several saying that engine mounts are a problem in this model. the reports are in several areas including engine, suspension, drive train, transmission. it seems the engine mounts could be a common denominator. if the mounts go it could cause a catastrophic failure including loss of control. *tr

The vehicle shutters at approximately 35 mph while acceleration. the vehicle then had the same episode happen while on the highway at 60 mph while acceleration. i have experienced these episodes several times within the last month. i believe that the issue is progressing and i am concerned about my safety. i have investigated several forums online with many posts that have the same issues with the honda and sister acura. i would like honda to step up and be held responsible for the repair. *tr

While driving at normal town speed (~25mph) car began overheating and speed dropped. pulled car over to cool. started to drive slowly home and symptom repeated. car towed to honda. they diagnosed as radiator and transmission fluid mixing due to failure in the radiator. damaged the transmission that needed to be totally replaced, along with a radiator and transmission cooler. engine also needed extensive flushing. suggested cost was $6400 without labor. after repairs, engine damage could be assessed. this appeared to be a minor failure in the radiator that destroyed a separate system and might have damaged the engine. *tr

I was driving the 2005 honda pilot about 20 to 30 mph . the time was about 7:15 am. the roads were wet after some misting light rain. i heard a relatively loud noise that startled me. the noise lasted for perhaps 2 seconds. it sounded as if the brakes were inadvertently being applied and grabbing or perhaps something was wrong with the transmission or rear end. i do not remember that the brakes were being applied at the time, but it is possible that they were. i kept driving and was then much more attentive to there possibly being something wrong with the car. about one minute later i heard an almost identical loud sound. i do remember that i was braking at the time, but due to being startle, it is possible that i may not remember such. the vehicle may have decelerated, but to the best of my recollection, i do not believe that the vehicle deceleration was severe. i drove the vehicle to the local honda dealer. i was told that the mechanic test drove the vehicle and could not repeat the problem and that he could not find anything wrong with the vehicle. then the service manager talked to me about what possible might have caused the loud noise and he test drove the vehicle with me inside. he directed the vehicle with the left wheels on the pavement and the right wheels on the grass. then he rapidly applied the brakes. the vehicle made a loud noise and to my memory the noise sounded like the noises i had encountered previously. he said that this noise was from the abs system engaging. i was very please with the attention of the service manager and his customer interaction. note: the printed paper shop invoice recorded : customer states it feels like brakes are sticking. problem is intermittent. my above incident description provides a more complete description of the incidents. *tr

Took my 2005 pilot in for major service 100k . vehicle has been maintained with regular intervals of fluid replacement and oil changes at non honda shops but with certified compatible products from valvoline. mileage on car is 107,928. picked up car was running great. within 7 miles flashing d light engine warning light stays on and car feels like its losing power and won't shift. dealer says its coincidence. no slowing of transmission no warning when dealer did major service and all point inspection with honda diagnostic computer. contacted dealer was told car should be drivable to bring it in. car stalled out jerked back and rpms soared almost causing me to get rear ended while traveling at 35 miles an hour. drove car 20 miles an hour and jerked back again causing me to be stuck in the middle of an intersection. pulled over turned car off and back on only engine silhouette still on and drove 20 mph to dealership. car in dealership mileage is 107953 and am told its a complete transmission failure on a sealed transmission that dealer couldn't detect three days earlier. no warning system or failed warning system on a very dangerous major car failure. i was also told that it was an emissions problem even car has been though my car passed smog in may 2012 with above average rating. my point is why is there no warning or detection to this potentially life threatening car failure????? *tr

Transmission cooling portion of radiator failed causing transmission fluid to leak into the radiator and mix with coolant. transmission drained and caused car to stop. introduction of antifreeze into the transmission caused damage to the transmission resulting in need to replace transmission.

While driving in a residential area, my 2005 honda pilot slipped out of gear multiple times and finally would not drive at all. i pulled the vehicle to the side of the road and shifted it into park. i waited a few minutes and tried to shift back into drive. the vehicle shifted into drive, but was unable to drive more than approximately 15 mph. i drove the vehicle in this manner for approximate half a mile to my destination. from there i had the honda pilot towed to an repair facility. the mechanic inspected the 2005 honda pilot and informed me that the vehicle's radiator had failed internally. this allowed the engine coolant and transmission fluid to mix. subsequently the coolant was circulated through the transmission and had caused damage to it. this is what had caused the vehicle to slip out of gear and ultimately render it unable drive.

I had to replace my radiator at 37228 milage and 85031 on 2005 honda pilot. the radiators are failing at the transmission fittings attached to the bottom of the radiators. there are several thousand complaints about this issue and honda is denying there is a problem. the problem is the transmission cooler is built into the bottom of the radiator. the cooler sits in the bottom of the radiator. there are two transmission fittings on the out side of the radiator that attach to the transmission. this brings transmission fluid in the radiator cooler, cools the fluid and returns it to the transmission. now inside the bottom radiator sits the transmission cooler which is just a small pipe witch is attached to the transmission fittings. when the fluid enters the radiator cooler it gets instantly cooled and returned to transmission because the cooler is submerced in radiator fluid. this is because the bottom of the radiator is the cooest at the bottom. whats happing is the transmission fittings are rusting away and failing allowing radiator fluid to enter the return line to the transmission. when radiator fluid enters the transmission the transmission is done. you need a replacement. these problem is happing to several hondas and nissin. the two car company's use the same manufacturing for the radiator. the company is denso. the failing on hondas and nissan. if you look into this matter you will see how many people are affected by this. i replaced two radiators for this truck so far. please look into this problem for $1400 so far. there is a defect with this radiator and honda refuse to do anything about it. people are spendings thousands of dollars for something that could be fixed by honda and nissan. please issue a recall with this issue. thank you

Travelled ~15 miles at hiway speed. exited hiway onto secondary roads thru a busy town. travelling approx 30 mph. car shuddered and speed dropped to about 10 mph. transmission wouldn't shift out of low with rpm approaching 4000 rpm. stopped at light, car stalled all sensor lights came on and flashed. got it restarted, had to put in low to move...got it moving at ~3500 rpm, went a block to get off the main road into parking lot. cooling fan running, but temp guage showed no issue. puddle of brown fluid formed under passenger side front of engine. looked like fluid sprayed through front passenger side of engine compartment no indication on sensor lights or temp guage that anything wrong prior to stall and all sensor lights came on. had car towed to honda...they diagnosed as 2 transmission cooling lines burst mixing the transmission and cooling fluid. fix options...1) flush cooling & tranny system 5-7 times, replace radiator, filter, and lines for $1600-1800 but won't know if transmission needs replacing. 2) full replacement of radiator, lines and transmission $3800 or if option 1 chosen and subsequently transmission needs to be replaced it would cost the initial $1600-1800 plus an additional $4000 for a total of approx $5800. no indicator from dealer of the problem history for this vehicle. had previously complained about shudder and the dealer replaced a wheel bearing first, then when kept complaining they replaced my rotors saying the rotors had warped ...after being resurfaced only ~3600k miles prior. learned lesson....investigate any problems on -line before you accept the dealer explanation.

There is an obvious shudder when my honda pilot reaches 35-40 mph, i have 107,000 miles on the pilot. we just started feeling the shudder so i decided to go online to see what could possibly cause this before i shell out tons of cash on a bunch of well this should fix it and it doesn't. i binged my 2005 honda pilot is shaking when i drive and about the 5th site down i found a site that contained complaints about my issue only they called it a shudder, now i'm terrified because the individuals on this site have had complete transmission failure and i now know that the little shudder that i feel is the only warning and i still don't know how long i have and i can get a rebuilt transmission but that is doomed to fail also. honda is in denial about the situation even though several have called and asked for assistance with repairs and complaints about how much the repairs are and how people are placed in danger because of the failure, i am afraid to let my newly licensed 16 and 17 yr old drive the car because drivers education didn't teach them how to handle transmission failure and i don't want them hurting themselves or anyone else. this is a safety issue that requires a new transmission replacement, not a patch or code or a rebuild that's going to breakdown after a few ten thousand miles. clearly this is a problem and some investigating on behalf of the consumer needs to be done to keep us safe.

Driving along and close to home felt a pop and noted the temp gage in hot range of my 2005 honda pilot. i have 77565 miles on it. in my driveway noted a gray liquid under front right side of vehicle. on inspecting in engine area noted the gray liquid overflowing from rad overflow container. oil level ok but noted no tranny fluid in it. towed to service station. it was determined that the transmission cooler located in the radiator had failed, mixing up the fluids. total cost $1900 with muti flush. i had coverage of transmission in effect but honda said not part of transmission. i have attorney now working on this case for me. the transmission has been shifting poorly before and now worse. took to honda dealer to check out. they said no problem that they noticed. with only a few weeks left on the warranty i took it to a professional tranny center and paid $50 for a diagnostic. the report noted an internal failed in the transmission and a need to replace or rebuild unit. back to the honda dealer with the report. they looked more closely and agreed that the transmission needs replacement. under honda care they replaced with a rebuilt unit. my case with honda paying me back for the initial repair is still being handled by my attorney. i feel that the transmission cooler is an important part of the transmission unit. no one at honda is able to tell me if my rebuilt is under any kind of extended coverage. still waiting to hear from the dealer.

I began to experience a slight shudder when vehicle speed reached 35 mph. not sure cause at the time so had tires and wheels checked and had mechanic try and replicate. no indication of a problem was noted and frequency at first was occasional but began to increase in frequency and duration. problem has become worse but always between 35-45 mph and disappears as speed increases. i have contacted dealer and was informed that there had not been any unusual increase in problems like this and would have to check it out. also informed no exisiting recalls or notices were on file. contacted my transmission service rep. and was informed the transmission was very likely failing and would probably need to be replaced. his estimate to replace $4000-$4500 ! 55,000 miles on vehicle??????

Our 2005 honda pilot has been pretty good for last seven years and 132,000 miles, although we wanted to keep it to 200,000 miles. last saturday, out of nowhere, it started to leak thick, pink liquid on our driveway. it appeared to me, and after looking at the owner's manual, that the issue was the radiator. it was a cold day so i started to drive to the dealer, watching the engine temperature light on the way. the car only went two miles before transmission stopped working. the car has now been at a local repair shop for a week and three days while i rent another vehicle. it is my understanding that this is a common issue in pilot's after going over 100,000 miles (catastrophic radiator failure that leads to transmission failure). honda should make certain that owners replace the radiator components that lead to this catastrophic failure before the owner has to replace both the radiator and the transmission. i would have certainly bought a new car if i had known this was coming up on the horizon, but now my investment in this vehicle will be too high to get rid of it. it seems that with some preventive maintenance, $5000 to $7000 of repairs could have been avoided, and i bet the honda dealer does not offer me $5k to $7k in trade in.

2005 honda pilot with 58,000 miles has transmission shutter at 25 to 40 mph under light throttle. has had all services done with factory fluids and filters since i bought the vehicle new. looking at the searchs some say it's torque converter and other have replaced complete transmission. dealer told me the other day pilots don't have these problems but the odyssey have the issue. so i asked how much to fix the problem and he said $ 2000.00 . well iam glad that i bought the factory extended warranty and have a year left of warranty an iam making a appt, to have it repaired before the warranty runs out. honda should recall the transmissions like they did on the acura mdx since they both have the same power train.

We went to camping trip and heard some grinding sound while i was driving this vehicle very low speed in camping ground. it has less than 50k at that time. then felt shudder while i was pressing gas pedal lightly to speed up. i thought it was caused by bumpy camp site road but it happened again on my routine commute road which i knew well there's no bumpy road condition. most of time, it happens between 35 and 40 mph or shift gear from 4th to o.d. now it has appx 63000 miles on it and honda america denied or not acknowlege this problem at all.

Noticed vehicle left a large puddle in the driveway. checked under hood and it appeared something had leaked/sprayed in the engine compartment towards the passengers side. took to mechanic. diagnosis of problem (paraphrased as best as i can recall)- transmission cooling part failed and leaked into radiator causing trans fluid and antifreeze to mix, flow through engine and spray out. mechanic stated it's something he doesn't see often and it's a major repair (think 1k). a quick search of the internet shows this is an issue with 05 honda pilots and that honda is not taking responsibility for it. this is obviously a design flaw or defect and they are doing nothing. hopefully the problem was caught/addressed in time to repair without having caused additional major damage to my engine. unacceptable.

Since purchasing my car ,a 2005 honda pilot, in 2007, i have experienced a shuttering that occurs at around 40 miles per hour. honda will not accept responsibility for the thousands of owners experiencing the same problem. the problem is coming from the torque converter/transmission, around a $3,000 to $5,000 to fix and honda is not accepting responsibilty for it...please do not purchase a honda if your thinking about it...go toyota! at least toyota stands behind their mistakes!

While driving the vehicle, it lost power even with applying a lot of pressure to the gas pedal. immediately pulled over. turned vehicle off and back on - could not shift it into drive. check transmission fluid - extremely low. vehicle had just been service at dealer 1-2 weeks prior to this incident. added transmission fluid - vehicle would shift into drive but not d3, d2, etc. drove to hotel nearby. next morning checked fluid - again, extremely low then noticed chocolate milk substance spewing from reservoir near radiator/washer fluid reservoir. immediate called dealer, had it towed and just learned that the transmission and radiator are both completely ruined. this seems completely unreasonable for under 145,000, especially given the other complaints of this nature that i've seen on line. thank you.

Transmission would not engage into reverse, notice a pink-brown fluid in the driveway. had pilot towed to dealership where pilot was bought & serviced. informed transmission cooling lines in radiator had disintegrated, causing transmission fluid to leak into radiator & radiator fluid into the transmission. when asked how this could happen to a 6 yr old pilot with only 59 k mileage no one had the answer. recommendation was new radiator & 2 transmission flushes, cost $906.29. i asked for some kind of assistance with the cost of the repair, because of the year, mileage & all schedule services were performed @ the dealership. here comes the alabama shim-sham. i was informed to call honda of n america. honda offered me $300 towards the repair cost,i said the offer was unacceptable, they offered $450, that was unacceptable. a few days later honda called back offering 400, i asked what happen to the 450 offer, they offered 450 again. i informed honda i needed an offer of 600, they agreed, i'm waiting for the check in the mail. 4 days after i took the pilot from the dealer repair shop the transmission went. dealer informed me replacement cost would be $5200. informed dealer i should not be charged because disintegrated transmission cooling lines caused the transmission problem. here comes the alabama shim-sham again. dealer & honda would pay $2500, i was to pay remaining cost $2700. i informed them that the offer is unacceptable. dealing with honda & dealer they stated the new cost to me would be $500, i informed both i need a better offer than that, the next offer was for me to pay $250, i accepted that offer. honda has a problem with the 05 pilot transmissions & transmission cooling lines. they know it but won't admit it. transmission cooling lines are disintegrating @ the 5 - 6 year mark regardless of the mileage. something needs to be look at for the reason why

Vibration on transmission while driving at 35-40 mph.
12/01/200934500
While accelerating between 35-45 mph, my vehicle shudders. this is a continuing issue. it doesn't do this every single time but at least once during the driving period. sometimes it is very noticeable and other times negligible.

Vehicle has noticeable shimmering/shuttering between 30-50 mph, noticed over a year ago. soon after the drive indicator light would flash intermittently, although both seem transmission related, they did not seem to correlate. over time the shimmering/shuttering seems to be more frequent and pronounced and the drive indicator seems to blink more frequently. after researching on the internet, it does not appear to be an isolated incident as there are many other 2005 honda pilots with similar symptoms at different stages of transmission 'failure' or complete failure. have not seen a formal release from honda (like with acura mdx issue which sounds too similar), but like with the tsb on the mdx, many problems seem to be resolved with replacement of torque converter or complete transmission. i don't expect any sympathy from honda so i am going to have our pilot diagnosed and repaired by a private mechanic (honda service is way too expensive) but wanted to file a formal complaint on this issue in the hopes that if it becomes big enough maybe others will benefit from honda having to get involved at some point.

Car shutters or vibrates around 25-35 miles per hour during normal acceleration. it appears that that tires are out of alignment, but after taking my car in for a tire balance and alignment it was determined to be the transmission. it happens whether the car is cold or warm. i was told that the torque converter could fix the vibrations, but the design flaw is with the whole transmission. this started at around 72,600 miles on the vehicle, and has progressively gotten worse. it has only been a month, but after doing some research i found this to be a common design flaw with the 2005 pilot. my local service department was able to negotiate 75% coverage of the approximately $3,300 repair bill by honda to replace my transmission even though it is out of warranty. i feel it should be 100% and plan on pursuing this issue with honda of america. i was told honda wouldn't cover anything after 75,000 miles. i feel honda needs to step up and own this well documented issue, but it is cheaper to deal with the one off complaints than admit fault and issue a recall.

Tl- the contact owns a 2005 honda pilot. the contact stated when they drive that the vehicle vibrates at lower speeds. the vibration seems to go away after 50 mph. when the contact slows down and then accelerates again, the vibration comes back. the contacts mechanic first it may be the tires, but the problem still existed. the mechanic came to the conclusion that the problem is with the torque converter. the failure mileage was 100000 and the current mileage was 126445.rl

Blinking 'd' light and once car is turned off, the blinking stops. this problem first occurred when we were driving back from lancaster, ca to san diego. the low fuel light went on and shortly thereafter, the blinking 'd' light. we pulled off the interstate and put some gas in the vehicle. the blinking d light did not appear again for two weeks. i took into my independent who could not duplicate the problem. the problem appeared this week and took in to my independent while it was still running and they were able to scan p0872. the car had just 62,232 miles on it and advised i take to the dealer. the dealer could not duplicate the problem. i took back to dealership where i bought the vehicle and gave them all the information from the independent and from this site. they were able to look up the dtc troubleshooting from american honda and replaced the 4th gear pressure switch, cleared code and reset the light. i was reassured that this is electrical and not mechnical. it could lead to damage to the internals of the transmission, if the switch is not replaced in a timely manner.

I have a 2005 honda pilot with 57,000 miles on it that i just recently bought. i am having concerns about the torque converter i have been researching about. my car will accelerate in the 32-45 mph window and then the rpm needle will jump back down to a lower rpm. alot of the jumping needle is happening. the car will shudder at these speeds and will feel as if the transmission is letting up when i get to these speeds, hence the rpm needle coming back down. the car has already gone in for work on the relay switch which was shorting the car out briefly when i was driving.

My 2005 honda pilot began shuddering about four months ago. i took it to the dealer and they told me it was the torch converter. they said it was an internal malfunction and the whole entire transmission will need to be replaced. my pilot has 122,000 miles. i have researched the issue and i see it is a common problem in 2005 honda pilots. my mechanic is rebuilding my transmission for $2900. i feel that honda should claim responsibility for the faulty transmission.

I have a 2005 pilot honda with ongoing shuddering between 30-40 mph. at first i though it was the air flow under the vehicle through the pvc molding. after checking i have been told this is a transmission problem (torque converter) the shudder began at 75,000 and the vehicle now has125,000 miles. to make the shudder stop i press or release the accelerator briefly. the transmission is now starting to shift hard into second gear. i will contact honda of north america next to discuss their findings with this problem.

There has been a definite shudder in the car between the speeds of 20 -40mph. if you accelerate - the shudder goes away - if you dont - it becomes more aggressive. because of this shudder - i now hear some sort of knocking in the car at the same speeds - which also goes away once you accelerate. this is also now responsible for a noticeable imbalance of the steering wheel between those speeds. i have a honda pilot ex 2005. honda does not have a recall / service bulletin for this.

My 2005 honda pilot ex shudders and vibrates when accelerating lightly between 30-40 mph. it also occasionally makes a purring noise between 40 and 50 mph, but not at the same time of the shudder. we have taken it to 3 honda dealers and none can replicate the problems (they can happen 10 times a day or not at all) and refuse to do anything about it.

My 2005 honda pilot has a bad torque converter causing the transmission to shudder or vibrate between 35-45 mph. i was told by my service man that the transmission could just lock up which is a safety issue.

2005 honda pilot torque converter issue when pressing the gas pedal lightly going from 30mph-40mph the car begins to shudder/vibrate. then pressing the gas pedal a little more the shuddering ceases after passing 45mph. problem started around 70,000 mi. now car is around 84,000 mi and problem still persists. have not corrected failure.

I was driving my wife and three kids when our 2005 honda pilot's transmission stopped functioning. we were nearly rear-ended 3 times on a 40 mph speed limit street, before i was able to get the car and my family pushed to a side street. our car was towed to a dealer and we were told that the issue was due to the interior of the radiator disentegrating and then metal parts leaked into the transmission. we've taken meticulous care of the care and had all service performed at the dealer. in fact, we had the radiator flushed just 5 months ago and only 9,500 miles ago.

2/24/10. 2005 honda pilot ex with 107k miles. have a blinking d light after driving for a few minutes. the light stops blinking when i cut off the car and turn it back on, but then it returns. today is the 1st day that this has occurred. owner?s manual notes that the blinking d light indicates a transmission problem. i called the dealership (economy honda-chattanooga, tn) who said that this is a common problem and may just be a bad transmission sensor which will cost me abt $350 and 2 hrs of my time. however, it could also mean that my transmission is failing prematurely. this is ridiculous as last month i spent over $1k to get the $105k mile maint and have always kept up with required maint. if this problem is so common- why has no recall been issued? in looking at other online complaints, the same issue occurs with the 2003-2004 pilots. i have an apt with the dealership tomorrow to address this issue. *tr

Cvt failure. please see csc-10024235-7187.pdf. more widespread problem than originally thought. many customers just nursed along to get past extended warranty. appropriate, effective, and prescribed remedies are not applied (iaw with above reference). appears honda is not providing a safe remedy for this safety-related problem. car frequently stalls, just when the driver is attempting to accelerate. less than one hour on the internet (various blogs) revealed well over 100 pages of dissatisfied owners regarding this problem. attempts to persuade honda to resolve this vexing problem fell on deaf ears at honda.*jb

Transmission failed and needed to be replaced. 2005 honda pilot has had numerous similar complaints as well as recalls on their 2003 and 2004 models. called american honda and they never returned phone calls. this was my 5th honda vehicle and i would think they would at least contact me to discuss the problem rather than ignore it entirely. *tr

My 05 honda pilot has 70,000 miles. the car was performing fine until backing out of the driveway and engaging the car into drive. upon engagement the transmission did not engage. a thick chocolate milk fluid is in the radiator and transmission dipstick. the problems results from the failure of a coil in the radiator which caused the transmission to fail. despite american honda's claims, the failure is a result of parts failure not any service recommendations. since the car is just over 4 years old and has 70,000 miles, i requested and was denied a goodwill adjustment. as noted in the recall of 2003 and 2004, honda is known for having transmission problems. other research proves that honda transmissions are not reliable. transmission failure is very dangerous and could cause serious harm to the passengers. *tr

Vehicle (2005 honda pilot, 118,000 miles) became immobile due to transmission slippage. left wife and two small children stranded. vehicle towed to dealer. when vehicle driven by service tech, it overheated. had not done this before. determined that transmission fluid coil within radiator had likely failed causing coolant to enter transmission and transmission fluid to enter cooling system. coolant causes surfaces of clutches in transmission to be compromised. could not get any help from american honda in making repair, nor from dealer (where car was purchased). traded car in on a 2006 pilot. *tr

2005 honda pilot transmission failure. i started having difficulty with the transmission around 75k miles. the whole vehicle would start to shake and shimmy when trying to accelerate going up a hill. this gets scary when there is a turn to negotiate when the transmission is making the whole vehicle shake. at times, i would have to brake, to get the vehicle back under control. i have been afraid several times while driving this vehicle for the safety not only for myself and family but for other vehicles that may be near me as the pilot became unstable while the transmission is shifting going uphill (several near crashes)! i am now at 120k miles, i am told that i need a new transmission due to gear failure and heat. i have had regular maintenance on this vehicle with honda fluids. i do not drive my vehicle hard or take it off road to play. this is crazy! i feel honda should produce a much better and more reliable product. i do not feel i should have to replace the transmission on a 4 year old vehicle. honda has a serious problem here with the safety and reliability of their pilots! i am hoping that you can help facilitate a safe and economic resolution with honda on the fabrication of their pilots. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 honda pilot. while driving 55 mph, the vehicle came to an abrupt stop. the contact stated that the vehicle appeared to rock while in motion. the vehicle was towed to the dealer who originally stated that they were unable to diagnose the failure. however, the next day, the dealer inspected the vehicle again and stated that the transmission failed. the dealer rebuilt the transmission. after the transmission was replaced, the steering wheel began to shake and the vehicle veered to the right. the dealer stated that the vehicle needed a wheel alignment. the alignment was performed, but the vehicle continued to veer to the right. the current mileage is 52,000 and the failure mileage was unknown.
