| Defect Summary | Certain fabtech aftermarket replacement pitman arms, p/nos. fts71000 and fts71001, installed for use on certain 2001-2006 gm c/k 2500 pick up trucks and sport utility vehicles. the pin located inside the pitman arm can shear off due to a reverse bending fatigue condition, resulting in a total loss of steering control. | |||||||||||||||

| 2005 hummer h2 unable to steer on dry asphalt when at a standstill. dealer replaced all steering components and it still cannot steer if at a standstill-like when you are trying to park it. i went to answers.com and a hummer expert said the power steering is weak in many gm suv's and cannot be corrected. i have checked with other owners, and half say they have the problem, and half do not. if you let the vehicle roll a little, then it can steer. but that makes it even harder to park. i decided to look at a new 2008 hummer h2, but the one i liked could not steer at a standstill, they tried to sell me a different color, which could steer, but i did not like the color. *tr | |||
