Defect Summary	Hyosung is recalling 3,292 my 2005-2007 gt650 and gv650 motorcycles. these motorcycles were built with fuel tank cap gaskets that prevent proper tank ventilation.
Consequence Summary	This could result in vehicle stalling which could result in a crash and/or fuel leakage which could result in a fire.
Corrective Summary	Dealers will modify the existing gas cap gasket. the recall began on april 1, 2008. owners may contact hyosung at 1-770-447-5571.

	Odi received a vehicle owner questionnaire (voq) alleging a hyosung gv650 leaked fuel from a fuel tank seam.after a hyosung dealer replaced the tank, fuel again leaked from the motorcycle and it began to stall.subsequently, hyosung advised the customer that the problem could have been avoided if the dealer had followed the instructions in its april 2007 tsb.that tsb acknowledged the subject vehicles fuel tank was not venting properly due to an improperly fabricated gas cap gasket.without proper venting, the bikes would stall or the fuel tank would collapse and leak or both.on february 12, 2008, after discussing the issue with odi staff, hyosung agreed to conduct a safety recall to modify the gas cap gasket.with that recall, this pe is closed.

	09 hyosung gt250r. purchased new from berts mega mall dealer in covina california, dealer said it was a new bike with manufacturer warranty. but, after some weeks on 4/21/2012 the front brake caliper fell from the tire support, causing loss of brake power on the freeway and almost caused an accident with traffic. then on 6/11/12 the clutch/transmission problems lead to a failure of the drive chain causing loss of control. incident reported on 6/12/12 with the dealer and 'im waiting for an answer from them. i will contact the manufacturer to file a complaint because a new bike shouldn't put anyone in danger, two times in less than four months ; i will forward the complaint to department of transportation and bbb (better business bureau ) to solve this .

	Tl*the contact owns a hyosung gt250 comet (na). while riding 70 mph, the front steering is unstable and causes the vehicle to ride unsteady. the vehicle has not been to a mechanic. the contact feels that the vehicle is flawed and unsafe to drive. the failure mileage was unknown.
