| Tl- the contact owns 2001 hyundai santa fe. the contact stated that the front passenger side air bag sensor would not detect a passenger in the seat and activate the air bag. the contact stated that the failure was intermittent and would activate only when certain persons were seated in the passenger seat. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who inspected the vehicle and advised that there were no failures with the air bag. the contact was concerned because when their spouse of 100 pound was seated in the passenger seat, the air bag would not activate. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vin was unavailable. the current mileage was 50,000 and the failure mileage was 10,000. kmj | |||

| I was involved in a auto accident in which another car hit me in the front center of my car and their front right. my speed was 40 miles before brakes applied their speed was about 15. my air bags did not deploy but theirs did. both fire and rescue personal voice concern about the non deployment of airbags with visual damage to vehicle.*ak | |||
