My car has died 3 times after i turn. i have turned both left and right when this happens. i usually happens when i'm turning out of my driveway or onto another street/road as slower speeds. i lose power steering, my car dies and my battery light quickly flashes on with this happens. once i turn the car off and turn it back on, everything works again. and no warning lights are on. this just happens to me sparatically. it has happened 3 times over the last 4 months. i've taken it in twice to the dealer. once they replaced a part (sorry do not recall at this time). however it did it a few weeks after that was replaced, so obviously wasn't what was wrong with it. the second time they just told me they do not know what is wrong. and state they could help me, nor will it be covered under my warranty if it happens over 100,000 miles. i've now heard of others this has happened too. *tr

Fuel gauge readings went erratic within 1-2 months after warranty expired. google searches show large number of other owners of 2007 hyundai sana fes having same problem. check light turns on and diagnostic code indicating fuel level sensor problem latches. driver can no longer tell how much fuel is in tank and becomes excessively distracted by having to watch miles driven and worry about running out of fuel. i firmly believe this is a design defect or quality problem with this many owners experiencing the same trouble. hyundai is not acknowledging the problem nor offering adequate assistance to remedy it. repair of problem typcally runs between $550 and $650. that hurts when warranty is expired. also there is no assurance at all that the replacement parts will not fail in the same way in 3-5 years. this problem does cause safety concerns. hard to drive as safely when preoccupied and worried about how much fuel is in tank. when driver can't afford to fix it, driver has to worry that other failures that trun on the check light will go unnoticed because check light is always on now and assumed to just indicate fuel level sensor failure. not good! for sanity i carry a spare 2 gallon can of gas in vehicle but it is not real safe to carry gas that way all the time.

Esc off light is illuminated when vehicle is not in park, and check engine light is illuminated. brake lights don't work (seem to be always on). i got the problem code from the vehicle, did some research, and found hyundai campaign 092 covered these conditions caused by a faulty stop lamp switch. i contacted hyundai, and they informed me my vehicle was manufactured (july 2006) prior to the the recall date range (which started in oct 2006), and would not be replaced without charge by a dealer. this is the same problem as was covered in the recall, and hyundai should be liable to fix it!

I received a recall letter from hyundai concerning the airbags in the vehicle. i realized that my airbag light on my dash had been on for a long time, perhaps a year or two, but i thought that was normal and didn't realize it meant it didn't work. i brought my vehicle to the dealer and they performed the repair related to the recall. the dealer stated that the repair did not fix the problem as the airbag light was still on. i agreed to pay the diagnostic charge so the dealer could find the problem. the dealer says there is a short in the wiring harness that is the cause of the problem which would cost $1500 to fix. they said the srs computer and airbag sensor may also need to be replaced for a cost of $600 and $400 respectively.

Three major complaints. at 18,000 miles the top seale of the engine had to be replaced, repaired under warranty. at 21,000 mile the rear brake calipers had to be repaired for sticking and pads replaced at owners expense. owner told by dealership the cause was probably from salt used to treat road surfaces during snow removal. hyndai refused warrenty claim and would not admit improper materials used for braking system. at 27,000 miles, multiple visits to dealership for repair of inoperating turn signals. parts replaced in attempt to repair include electrical box in steering column, all bulbs, flasher unit, grounding points for system. problem reaccuring and dangerous.

While driving in a southern direction i made a left hand turn in an eastern direction, as i was making the turn i heard a loud sound similar to the dropping of a heavy object and immediately afterward the power steering on my car went dead and the red battery light in the dash came on. i was able to pull the car to the side of the road and i stopped. the red battery light was still on, i than turned the key to turn the motor off and when i started the car again the red light was still on and i did not have power steering. as i was close to my home, i proceeded to drive home and park the car in the driveway, the power steering was not working and the red battery light was still on. since this is the third time that i have experienced the loss of the power steering i am going to have the car transported to the dealers service shop for inspection. the first time that i experienced the loss of the power steering an inspection was made by the service mechanics of the dealer, and they after keeping the car several days could find nothing wrong. if these incidents would have occurred while i was driving on the n.j. turnpike i feel that the outcome would have been much different. *tr

On monday december 18, 2007 i got a 2007 santa fe to drive as a loaner from a hyundai dealership. tuesday night when i filled the gas tank, the vehicle would not start for about 20 minutes. i called roadside assistance who told me to call the dealership, who in turn told me to call roadside assistance. brown's manager, ishmael told my husband that he could not help us. the next day i called the dealership service manager who said that the problem had to do with the remote starter on the key chain, which i could press twice and the car would restart. he offered another car to me but assured me that i should be fine. i opted to keep the santa fe. that night as i returned on the fairfax county parkway from herndon to my home, the santa fe died again. no amount of pressing on the remote restarted the vehicle and i became panicked as cars raced by on either side of me. the vehicle never restarted although the dashboard lights would occasionally flash on then off. a policeman contacted a tow truck who towed me back to the dealership. i felt my life was at risk by the santa fe's total failure in the middle of a major highway at rush hour, where i was stranded for 40 minutes. *tr
