Driver side sun visor fell down while i was driving down the road. i had to pull over to the side of the road and remove visor so i could safely drive home.

Passenger side sun visor fell out of socket and is hanging by wires. this item is rarely used. fell as i was moving through a parking lot. pushed back into socket where it stays for a few min, then falls again. my car is rarely driven, has only 16k miles on it, bought brand new. by what i have read online, it seems a costly repair, if it is even deemed fixable. major hazard. not to mention it being an obvious manufacturer defect. i have not contacted hyundai as today is sunday and they are closed. i fail to see how this issue has not made it to a re-call level yet... online, numerous 2007 santa fe complaints with this very issue! i fail to see how this should be a repair coming out of my pocket! very disappointed!

2007 hyundai santa fe driver's side sun visor breaks and hangs down from roof and blocks the driver's vision. 1) i rarely use the sun visor; however, one morning i came out and the visor was hanging from the roof by wires (these power the vanity mirror light). the visor blocked my vision. 2) i pushed the visor back up into the roof bracket. it imemdiately fell down again. i really applied pressure and pushed it back up in the bracket. five minutes later it fell down again blocking my vision. i then removed the holding bracket from the roof, inserted the visor post inside it again, and reattached the bracket. the visor fell again. 3) i have to order a brand new sun visor to replace what is/was a perfectly good, electrically light fundctioning, working sun visor. the hyundai service manager tells me he sees a lot of these visors that fall, but they can't be repaired as supposedly a spring has broken up inside the mechanism.

Driving 2007 hyundai santa fe on highway suddenly the sun visor drops into my face from its corner attachment, dangling by only electrical wire. grabbed sun visor and lifted up, preventing potential accident with other vehicles. hyundai service dealership refused free replacement due to being out of warranty. gave estimate $150 to replace. there are dozens of same defect online with 2007 hyundai santa fe driver side sun visor dropping from exact same location. because it is very dangerous not to fix we had to pay for the safety of our family onboard. hyundai still refusing to do recall. filing complaint with state attorney general office of consumer affairs.

01/15/201165000
The driver's side sun-visor broke at the plastic hinge where it goes into the ceiling of the vehicle causing the sun visor to drop down and obscure my view of the road. this created a dangerous situation in which i could not see the road while driving. even in the closed and stowed position, the sun visor periodically drops down obscuring my driving view. this is quite dangerous in that i cannot see the road for a few seconds and am distracted while re-stowing the visor.

While driving down the highway, i opened my sun visor and everything was fine, then suddenly it dropped down into my line of sight just dangling by some wires! i could have been seriously injured! after trying to push it back up into the hole, to only have it fall down in my face again at any given time, i had to just remove it completely! to add insult to injury, the passenger side visor did the same thing 2 days ago. i just can't believe the cheap parts used on these visors, the knowledge of the safety hazard, and the lack of action taken to fix this! i will never buy a hyundai again if this is the service i am going to receive.

The washer fluid does not squirt onto the window. at best, the fluid sometimes dribbles out and hits the lowest part of the window, but only after holding the washer fluid button for up to 30 seconds. the dealership told me that the line was probably frozen and there was nothing they could do. they recommended i check the fluid line for blockage or heat it up with a hair dryer. i have the same problem on two different cars from the same manufacturer, and the problem exists in all types of weather. during light snow and rain, the window gets dirty and i have to pull off the road to clean the window in order to continue driving. i think that's a significant safety issue. *tr

A crack appeared in my windshield. it looks to have originated from the base of the windshield and nothing has damaged my windshield prior. it looks like it's cracking from the inside of the glass. i have to get an estimate on how much it's going to cost to repair from my insurance company today. the same thing happened to my friends 2007 hyundai sante fe a while after she bought it last year. *tr

Driving on highway exit ramp into the setting sun when my drivers side sin visor flopped down in front of me. it had broken loose from the upper holder evidently and was dangling by the two vanity mirror wires. i was able to pull to the side of the ramp without being hit, but not sure how. i notice that there are several complaints lodges for this exact situation, but no recall has been ordered. this is most certainly a safety issue. *tr

The sun visor on the passenger side suddenly came off from the mount that holds it in place. the actual mount was still on, held by three screws. however, the visor came off at the hinge. i was changing lanes on the highway and it completely blocked my view of the lane to my right hand side and i came close to crashing. this appears to be a common problem. the internet is full of reports noting that these visors come off suddenly because they are held to the mounting assembly by what can be described as a rubber band. heat and time eventually cause it to crack. if the driver's side visor falls in this fashion it will lock itself between the dash board and the steering wheel. it will prevent me from steering the car. not to mention, block my field of view as it falls forward. it is only a matter of time before this happens. i took it to the dealer and they wanted to do the hyundai dealer on october 10, 2012 repair off the books. they were going to charge me for the part separate from my repair bill but install it for free so that there would be no paper trail. the dealer advised me that this happens a lot to the santa fe models. i have pictures that can be included in this report if needed. *tr

While i was driving on the highway at about 60 mph the driver sunvisor just broke off and fell right infront of me, because of the wires to the mirror on the sunvisor, the sunvisor was just hanging in front of me. this almost caused me to get into an accident with traffic. i took the vehicle to the dealership to get the sunvisor changed and i was told it was not covered under the warranty. i have done some research on this type of problem and have found out that hyundai has had this problem for about 10 years in different vehicle models, one of them being the 2007 hyundai santa fe limited which is what i have. i believe the manufacturer should assume responsibility of fixing this problem. this needs to be corrected asap. *tr

While traveling down the interstate at 75+ mph, the sun visor in my 2007 santa fe broke from the 'elbow' and fell down into my field of view!!! the passenger side also broke but not during actual use, while traveling but at a low speed, over a bump. the visors aren't even used with any frequency and certainly aren't abused, yet both are broken completely free and useless! this is unacceptable. *tr

Driver side sun visor broke when adjusting. the visor fell and was dangling in front of my face hanging on the wire for the vanity light. it startled me and i swerved. luckily there was no accident. the part cannot be satisfactorily reinserted in the socket. it stays in place only temporarily. a quick search of the internet found this to be a common problem. hyundai apparently takes no responsibility for these defective parts. *tr

Was driving when all of a sudden the sun visor on driver's side dropped down. couldn't flip it back up to stay intact. kept falling down impairing my vision. plastic piece eventually broke off and so i tried to use velcro to keep the visor from blocking my vision while i drove the vehicle. didn't work. wire broke a couple days later sending the whole visor down falling on my lap. now as of 8/29/12 the passenger sun visor is doing the same thing. there are sooo many complaints online with specifically the 2007 hyundai santa fe visors breaking. this needs to be recalled asap. major vision impairment. *tr

The sunvisor on the driver's side broke; on the post where the visor attaches to the roof of the car. once broken it could not be secured out of harm's way. this caused the visor to hang straight down blocking the driver's view of the road and creating a vision hazard. secondly, the visor then was free swinging, so that it could strike the driver in an accident or just in normal driving. i have the visor and pictures documenting the break site.

I have had so many problems with my car. the first problem began years ago with the low beam headlights. i have to replace the headlights for both right and left side about 5 to 6 times per year. this can get very expensive especially if i were to get a ticket. the second problem are the rear tires. i noticed about two years ago that the tires get worn out much quicker than the others, so i'm constantly rotating them. just recently, it has become worse. just this year, i have replaced tires twice and have noticed that i need another set of tires. have taken the car to a mechanic, but can not find anything wrong with the rear-end. the last issue that just happened a few months ago is the passenger visor. it suddenly fell out of its socket and eventually was hanging by its wires. after trying to put the visor back into its socket a few times, it eventually broke off. have not ordered another yet. didn't realize how expensive they are.

While driving, driver's side visor became disconnected from its attachment point. this detachment caused the visor to dangle by wires and the inside clip which resulted in completely blocking the driver's forward vision. reinserting the visor is a temporary fix as it falls out randomly from 5 seconds to a couple days after reinsertion. similar thing happened to the passenger side visor a year earlier.
