| I have noticed an unusual percentage of hyundai sonatas with the high visiibility brakes lights that do not operate. i checked into having it repaired and the estimate was very expensive. i wondered if this was a manufacturing defect since access to the light is so difficult. i was curious if other compaints had been filed and if anything can be done. | |||

| Several times i have had the alternator and battery fail shortly after and during a rain fall. when it rains the electrical system starts given problems by turning ligths off both outside and cluster panel lights, it also starts giving warning ligth failures such as abs, esc and the hazzard ligths will not function durning this time of failure making it very dangerous to be run into in the dark of the nigth. the dealer is useless as all they do is put the vin # in their coumputer and say there is no recall nor know problems as these problems and it is working fine after the alternator is replaced. the car was bougth used and in less 10 months the car has had 3 alternators and 2 batteries and the problem has not been resolved. | |||

| My husband notice the passenger airbag light was coming on and going off as we were going down the highway at around 20,000 miles. this happened many times for both my husband and myself. i brought the car into 2 different dealers and was told they can't duplicate the problem. since we didn't notice it happening until we were going down the highway for at least a half hour, i wasn't surprised that it didn't happen while test driving it at slower speeds in town. since it didn't happen for the dealers, and the abs light in the instrument panel didn't come on when it happened, there was nothing they could do. now that the vehicle is out of warranty at 66,000 miles, both the passenger abs light and the instrument light have come on and won't go out. i also noticed that the passenger seatbelt light was flashing when my husband had his seatbelt on and buckled. i am bringing it to the dealership to see if this will be fixed under warranty but am sure they will say it's not covered and will cost me. *tr | |||

| Tl*the contact's spouse owns a 2007 hyundai sonata. while attempting to start the vehicle, the key turned in the ignition, but the vehicle would not start. the vehicle was towed to the dealer three times regarding this failure. the first time the battery was replaced and the second time parts of the dashboard were replaced. the failure still persists. the vehicle is presently with the dealer for a diagnosis. the current mileage was 940 and failure mileage was 100. updated 03/06/08. *lj the power seat switch was replaced. | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 2007 hyundai sonata. when someone who 125 pounds was seated in the front passenger seat, the air bag sensor would not register that the seat was occupied. the air bags would not deploy in the event of a crash. the dealer and manufacturer stated that nothing could be done. the current mileage is 22,000 and failure mileage was 1,000. updated 05/13/08. *lj an exhaust shield had to be ordered due to a rattle coming from the front end of the vehicle. the truck did not open from the switch on the drivers side. the dealer replaced the wiring harness. updated 05/13/08. *jb | |||
