2007 hyundai tiburon. the air bag warning light goes off and on. i have taken it to the dealer numerous times. the mechanic has just reset the warning light. the mechanic mentioned to me that other customers have had problems. i asked why there wasn't a recall, and i got no response. now the air bag warning light stays on all the time. the car is out of warranty. why wouldn't the auto maker fix this problem before my car was out of warranty? why doesn't the auto manufacturer recall these vehicles? this is not the first problem i have had with this auto. the first problem was bad tires. they kept going flat. the mechanic told me it was because i didn't drive enough. i bought new tires myself. they don't go flat, even though i still don't drive a lot.

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 hyundai tiburon. while driving approximately 25 mph on normal road conditions, the contact proceeded onto a ramp. suddenly, the passenger side air bag deployed without an impact. the inadvertent air bag deployment caused the driver to sway onto the curb. immediately, the rear passenger side tire blew out. there were no warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the driver replaced the tire with a spare and the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing. the technician was unable to determine the cause of the failure. the vehicle has not been repaired. the failure and current mileages were 27,337. updated 04/16/09.*jb

My son had a accident in a 2007 hyundai tiburon. he hit a pole going approx. 40 mph. he bent both frame rails and did major front end damage to the car. on impact his air bag did not deploy. the car is currently in the body shop waiting on the insurance company. hyundai told us both front sensors must be hit to deploy airbag. the frame is bent and that wasn't enough to deploy the airbags. i have been reading on the internet that many hyundai vehicles have been in severe accidents and the airbags didn't deploy. i would just like it to be known that hyundai vehicles are very unsafe. luckily he wasn't severely hurt just back pain but it could of been alot worse. my son is very lucky he wasn't hurt worse and after reading all the trouble with hyundai airbags i am wandering why something hasn't been done to help correct the airbag issue since there have been many complaints on the internet. hyundai evidentially doesn't want to take responsibility for this problem, the only thing we were told was that the only way the airbags will go off is if 2 sensors are hit. well he took out the drivers side front end of the car and i can not understand how they consider this a safe car. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 hyundai tiburon. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer because he felt that there was an issue with the rpm's. after leaving the vehicle at the dealer for two days, he was informed that the rpm's had been replaced and that there was an issue with the clutch in the vehicle. the dealer stated that the clutch failure was due to wear and tear; however, the contact believes that it should not be because the vehicle was only one year old. through online research, he found numerous complaints for the same failure as his year, make, and model vehicle. he presented his findings to the dealer and was informed that nothing could be done. the contact called the manufacturer and was informed that he would be responsible for the repair costs. the current and failure mileages were 37,000. updated 12/30/08 *cn updated 01/02/09.*jb updated 01/02/09. *jb
POWER TRAIN

I am the sole driver of a 2007 tiburon se. two years ago, with only 25,685 miles on it, the car had clutch failure, was jerking when going into 1st gear, and not gliding when switching through the other gears. i took it to a dealership week and was told that they would have to take it down to the transmission which would take about 7 hours to do, and then there would be about a 10-30% chance that the problem would be due to driver error, in which case, i would be responsible for the cost of diagnosis (about $700) plus the repair. if the problem was deemed to be a defective part, then it would be covered under warranty. my first car in high school was a simca (stick shift). then i drove a toyota truck, then a ford ranger truck, then a ford mustang. all of which were stick shifts which i drove about 7 yrs each, and none of which ever had a clutch problem. to be told that i may have caused this problem by the way that i drive was somewhat insulting. due to my persistence, the clutch was repaired under warranty. now 2 yrs later, the same thing has happened again, and i am being told the same thing by hyundai. i am 54 yrs old with over 40 yrs experiencing of driving cars with manual transmissions! now that i see that there are so many others with this issue, apparently, a class action suit was settled on the 2003 tiburon clutches. they no longer make the tiburon, perhaps there were just too many issues with them. please help; this is happening to too many people and something needs to be done about it. *tr

Clutch on vehicle failed, will not catch gears to pick up speed and constantly slips gears when attempting to shift. 2nd time this has happened, 1st being at 17,000 miles, hyundai stated warranty would not cover the clutch repair due to user error, i was charged $2500 to repair it. after talking to numerous other 2007 tiburon owners, same clutch issues are happening to owners of the same vehicle.
04/17/2008170001
At 17,000 miles the clutch totally went out on my hyundai tiburon, mind you i bought the car brand new exactly 12 months ago. according to reports online, this is a common occurrence. went to the dealer, and was told this was not covered, and had to pay for the exact same clutch to be installed, as there is no after market clutch available. *tr

At 11,985 miles the clutch on our 2007 hyundai tiburon went out. we have been told it is because of the driver. it will cost ~$1,200 to replace, because clutches are not covered by warranty. i did some investigating on line and it appears that hyundai has a major problem with the clutch they install on these cars. some investigating needs to be done, as clutches tend to go out when one is driving. this can lead to an accident. (i was nearly hit driving our car to the dealership because the clutch would not engage). *tr
POWER TRAIN - MANUAL TRANSMISSION

My 2007 hyundai tiburon has 32,000 and is in need of it's second clutch. dealership's stance is normal wear and tear. this vehicle is not my first stick shift and have never encountered this problem before. on-line research shows i'm not the only one with the same clutch problem for the same vehicle. dealership wants to replace the double flywheel with a single flywheel at a cost to fix $1900, since the clutch is not covered under warranty.

I was previously the ower of a 2003 hyundai tiburon and had to spend over $2000 to replace the clutch at approximately 40,000 miles. there has since been a class action suit against hyundai for this issue as they knew the clutch was faulty but insisted it was the driver. i have since upgraded to a 2007 tiburon (before i knew of the severity of the clutch problem) and now at 47,000 am experiencing the same clutch issues. as i can't afford to sell the car i have to prepare to dump an additional $2000 to fix the issue.

I have a 2007 hyundai tiburon and while i was driving the clutch simply failed. after luckily avoiding an accident i contacted hyundai, who stated there was nothing they could do, then took it to a mechanic come to find out i now have to replace my master cylinder as well as most of the clutch assembly, total cost is going to be almost $2400.
06/22/2009307341
The clutch assembly failed for the second time on my daughters 2007 hyundai tiburon. she bought the car used, with approximately 11,000 miles. the first clutch failed before 12,000 miles, and the dealer replaced it under warranty. the clutch has now failed for the second time, with 30,734 miles. hyundai said it was not under warranty since it was a wear part, but they would provide the new parts as a

My 2007 hyundai tiburon clutch is going out one way or the other. i read many of forums stating hyundai is not taking the cost. all of these forums state that the owners clutches are going out pre-maturely and hyunday states that its the owners driving habits. if you look at all the responses you will see that there is way to many bad habit drivers i have not yet taken my car in but i feel i know what is going to be said. i will be back when i know more. when i was driving down the road at about 55 the car made aloud screeching sound and then would not move anymore. after messing with the clutch and attempting to shift the car finally started to move but at a very slow pace. i was in fear of being rear ended as i was on the high way. *tr
TIRES
02/02/2010140001
With 14,000 miles on kumo tires, the left front tire blew apart complete around the rim on the inside. a 2 inch piece was left on the rim and the remainder was completely cut through. the tire vendor says there is nothing they ca do, the dealer says that it up to the tire vendor. these are original equipment with little usage. *tr
01/21/200912001
These are standard tires for the hyundai tiburon. one of the tires appears to be defective and loses pressure. the dealership says they can find no leak and added nitrogen to the tires. but still one tire loses more pressure than the others. the dealer will not replace, and doesn't seem to think this should be a problem. i have taken the vehicle in four times for this problem. i called the hyundai customer service number. they say the tire manufacturer is responsible - even though the tires were on the car i purchased new from hyundai. i purchased a road hazard policy and an extended warranty. neither of these covers defective tires. i am afraid to drive with these tires. *tr
