ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

My hyundai veracruz shut off while i was making a turn. i lost power steering and just averted hitting a concrete block holding a sign. prior to the shut down, i started losing acceleration even though i had my foot on the gas. the car had to be towed to the hyundai dealership, baltimore pike, springfield, pa. i couldn't even get the key out of the ignition. it was horrible and scary. a few months ago i lost acceleration and the car started running rough - engine light came on. i took it to same dealership above and was told it was an oxygen sensor. i told them i thought it was the throttle position sensor because i went online and found several other veracruz owners who had experienced what i had experienced with their vera cruz. towing and accidents were involved. they said they could only replace what the computer told them to. why didn't hyundai recall the veracruz and replace the throttle sensor to eliminate someone getting killed. maybe someone has been -i'll continue to do research. i should have never been allowed to be in such a serious situation - hyundai knows about the problem - i feel not replacing the throttle sensor is negligent. i just hope that by replacing the throttle sensor, the problem will be completely fixed. right now my veracruz is still at the dealership - they also had to replace the alternator and battery as a result of what happened. however, they are charging me for the battery - should not be but the warranty on the battery is up. i want this documented because of the danger involved. the 2007 veracruz is a timebomb waiting to go off and it scares me to think of what could have happened or what still could happen. *tr thank you, susan collins
