Defect SummaryDuring a canadian compliance test, certain sport utility vehicles failed to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, 'lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.' a rear combination lamp assembly did not meet the requirements.
Consequence SummaryThis standard is to reduce traffic accidents and deaths and injuries resulting from traffic accidents, by providing adequate illumination of the roadway, and by enhancing the conspicuity of motor vehicles on the public roads so that their presence is perceived and their signals understood, both in daylight and in darkness or other conditions of reduced visibility.
Corrective SummaryDealers will replace the rear combination lamp assemblies. the recall began on december 18, 2006. owners may contact infiniti at at 1-800-662-6200.

 Tl*- the contact has a complaint on a 2003 infinity fx45. the contact stated that the turn signal system on the vehicle could cause an accident since the bar also has the high beam/on and off head light switch at the end of the turn signal bar. the contact stated that when driving and making a left turn or right turn it is very easy to turn on the head lights off, which could cause an accident since the driver could lose visibility. this issue began on january 2007, and had occurred three times while driving on the road. the current mileage was 20,000.
