Defect SummaryZf service is recall certain clutch kit assemblies, part number sx: k70358-01, shipped to wholesalers as service parts between september 1, 2010, and march 8, 2011. these service parts are intended for use on model year 2003-2006 nissan 350z and infinity g35 vehicles. the sx: k70358-01 clutch kit contains an oversized clutch disc.
Consequence SummaryAn oversized clutch disc could cause the vehicle to move unintentionally on the initial start-up, if the driver does not follow the installation instructions and fails to use the service brakes while the hand brake is not applied. unintentional movement of the vehicle could result in a crash or possible injury to persons outside the vehicle.
Corrective SummaryZf service notify wholesalers to return any affected clutch kit assemblies still in inventory for free replacement kits. this condition will correct itself after the first start-up and usage of the clutch kit. however, if an owner is not satisfied with its performance, zf services will reimburse the owner for the cost of the replacement clutch kit and a reasonable amount for its installation. the safety recall is expected to begin during july 2011. owners may contact zf services at 1-800-321-0784 ext. 6748.

Copy of what i sent to infiniti via infiniti.com: my 2003 infiniti g35 has been into the orlando infiniti dealership twice for a transmission issue. in the last trip it was at the dealer for eighteen (18) days and the issue is still unresolved. after speaking with the service manager, john, i was told that he called infiniti technical support who stated that the problem is considered normal operation. i would like to know under what circumstances a transmission jerk at around 40 mph is normal, as i have never driven a vehicle that has done this, including the 2007 g35 courtesy car that infiniti loaned to me. if this is considered normal operation, would not all infiniti vehicles exhibit this? on the nhtsa.gov website there are eight (8) pending complaints of owners experiencing transmission problems, and two (2) technical service bulletins listed. also, after speaking with the service manager, john, it has come to my attention that there are other g35 models at this dealership experiencing the same issues; and theirs are also still unresolved. i am asking that i be treated the way a customer should be, as this situation has been handled very unprofessional. i have documentation of all work orlando infiniti performed and i would like this to receive immediate attention as i do not feel safe in a vehicle with transmission problems. thank you. *jb

After car has been driven for a while excessive heat can be found to be radiating from the automatic transmission. front foot wells and center console are all found to be very warm to the touch. will this affect the longevity, reliability or performance of this car? *la

Upon taking my 2003 g35 sedan to infiniti of nashville to have my oil changed and the brake light switch replaced based on a national recall, the brake light switch was improperly installed causing my brakes to be locked. i was allowed to drive off the lot with my vehicle in this condition causing wear on my brakes as it appeared that no one test drove my car prior to the maintenance to ensure everything was operating effectively. in addition, my transmission appears to be slipping based on the incident. *la
