I own a 6-speed manual transmission and the car is consuming a tremendous amount of engine oil. i am pouring two quarts of oil in it every 3 - 4 days. at this point, the oil is leaking into the combustion chamber producing white fumes out the tailpipe. i reached out to infiniti

First defect: when i would start my car the lights would go out in the radio, heating and cooling buttons. the fan would come onto high and switch to airconditioning. i could not turn it down or turn it off or turn on my defroster when it was 30 degrees in the morning which made my visabilty very poor. the only way to get this to stop was to pull the fuses. we check the recall history and found that it was only a courtesy recall and wouldn't be covered even after reading that hundreds of g35 owners were all having the same problem. we had to have the radio electrinics removed from the car and sent out to be fixed. i think this issue would be consistered a safety issue when you don't have heat or a defroster. second defect: the problem started while the car was idoling and it would stall. then 3 days later while driving at 50mph the car tryed to stall and it lost all power and then the dash lights came on indicating service needed. the car seem to lack power. did a recall check and found that all the conditions pointed to the cam shaft position censor failing. we checked the vin# and of course my car isn't one that is on their recall list for the same problem they have on other g35 models. this could be a serious safety issue causing an accident when you stall and have no control of your vehicle going down the highway. every issue i have had with my car has been on the companies recall list but not my vin # for some reason. this issue to need to reviewed and corrected. third defect: we have had to have the motor replaced twice in the drivers door that operates the electric window. now the right door window is not working. if it does open it will get stuck and we have trouble gettting it to come up. we have to keep it locked to avoid it being opened.

I've recently been having issue with the engine where the car stalls. the car start fine when i do a cold start but when the car warms up the car stalls at times. i've been hearing a lot of the stories from other people on different forums where this is a common issue for this model. the culprit are either the trottle body which i had already replace three years back, the 2 cam position sensors and crank position sensor. i recently found out that there is a recall on the cam position sensors and crank position sensor. i'm hoping that that my vin# is part of that recall. the second issue i have been having with this car is the radio and temperature control. that i recently had changed with the factory radio attached to the temperature control. the radio would stop working. i have no control over the temperature control and the ac unit would turn on by it self. i recently just installed an after market radio. with everything after buying what was required to do a double din conversion and installation. it cost me a good amount of money. another issue this car has is the seat belt issue. it doesn't retract properly and the passenger side it's a chore just trying to put on the seat belt.

While driving in traffic, car dies without warning, dash sensor reflect slip, vdc off, check engine soon light up, drove less than mile and dies again suddenly, 3rd time happens next day in car and almost collision due to lack of control of steering and car stopping, car narrowly misses hitting me from behind, determine recall 03v455000 for this issue but infiniti states my vin # not registered to this recall, told by repair shop that it is cam sensors and infiniiti aware of problem but hasn't linked vins to recall, does someone have to die to get corrected???

Tl* the contact owns a 2003 infiniti g35 coupe. while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. after repeated attempts to restart the vehicle, the contact was able to restart the vehicle. the vehicle was taken directly to an authorized dealer where the contact was told the vehicle was not included in the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 03v455000 (engine and engine cooling). the vehicle was in the process of being repaired. the contact also stated that the failure continued to recur while the vehicle was in route to the authorized dealer. the failure and current mileage was 131,300.

Vehicle would randomly stall out at 50 mph+ and control of power steering would be lost (battery light & vdc light would come on dash), rendering the vehicle a dangerously fast moving lead sled. power to the vehicle would resume after a few moments. many trips to the dealership about this potentially deadly problem yielded no explanation or fix for the problem. after conducting my own research on the internet, it was finally determined to be caused by a malfunctioning crank shaft sensor. the sensor would get too hot and shut down, causing the loss of power to the vehicle. after a few seconds of cooling, power would resume. apparently a tse bulletin was issued for this problem, but it did not include the vin for my car since it was produced later in the model year. the sensor (a $40 cost part!) was replaced free of charge at the dealership only after putting up a fight. infiniti/nissan needs to re-evaluate the scope of affected vehicles involved in this potentially deadly issue or be held responsible should someone die when their car stalls out at 65mph.

I was driving on the freeway and the car stopped. i had the car towed to a mechanic and he informed me that the cam shaft sensor and crank shaft sensor has gone bad. there was a nissan recall associated with this defect and they refuse to repair the defect.

2003 infiniti g35 coupe- loss of engine power while driving followed by slip and vrc warning lights coming on. the car just suddenly stopped on the freeway. good thing it's a manual tranmission and i could coast to the side. i was lucky not to get into an accident . tests reveal both cam sensors need to be replaced. i have seen numerous reports like this yet no recall is being produced. this is almost as bad as the toyota accelaration problem.

This is a big problem with this engine, they have a excessive oil consumption problem. my g35 consume 1 quart of oil every 500 miles , the car only have 66,000 original miles on it, infiniti told me there is nothing they can do due to the car is out of warranty, read on forums about the same issue and there is thousands of infiniti g35 owner with the same problem, and infiniti has not do anything about it . there are people that has run their g35 3,000 mile and has damage the engine completely due to the oil consumption problem and infiniti has turn them down. telling them there is nothing they can do, i think someone should investigate this issue because there is a lot infiniti g35 owner that paid a lot of money for a damage car. *tr

Oil consumption, infiniti g35 coupe. it appears that the engine consumes a lot of oil after 1,000 miles, occurs all the time. i keep adding oil and checking continuously. this has been happening since i've owned the vehicle. *tr

 1) car has been meticulously cared for. at 44,450 miles, the engine dies unexpectedly while going at 25mph. engine cranks roughly for a long time at start, but starts eventually. i get the check engine light, vdc off and slip light on. 2) the error was associated to camshaft position sensor. since the start of this condition, engine dies atleast once every drive - mostly at low rpm, but twice at 25 and 40 mph resulting in near collisions! i called infiniti and they mentioned that my particular vin has no recalls associated with it for this condition - but i clearly see a 630,000 car recall for this condition under engine & engine cooling with nhtsa id# 03v455000. 3) the dealership is willing to repair for $105/hr for something that is clearly a vehicle defect. they will change the camshaft position sensor. *tr

The cam shaft position sensor went out on my infinity g35 causing a complete loss of power and almost caused a wreck. there is a recall on that year, but when i contacted infinity, they said that my model was not affected by the recall. apparently that model has the defect. the refused to repair it. *tr

2003 infiniti g35- temporary loss of engine power while driving (up to 3 seconds) followed by slip and vrc warning lights coming on. power then usually resumes with these lights staying on. near accident in one event while passing truck. my mechanic indicates both cam sensors need to be replaced. indicates this a common problem with certain nissan sentras that had a recall. i contacted infiniti consumer affairs- they indicated no recall on my model. *tr

I was driving on the road and my car lost all power. my camshaft position sensor had to be replaced, but the dealer said it was not covered under the recall campaign 03v45500 which was for this exact problem.

Owned a 2003 infiniti i35. it began to stall while running, at interstate speeds, street speeds, at stop lights. mechanic thought it was the battery but problems continued. we sold vehicle due to issues and needing reliable vehicle. two months after selling it, our other 2003 infiniti, a g35 coupe, began having the same issues. took to infiniti dealer and they stated the error was p0340 and cam shaft sensor needed to be replaced, $600. i did research and found there was a recall but was told by dealer my vin did not fit within recall numbers. in a short amount of research on web, i found probably 10-15 other owners of g35 coupes that have this issue and infiniti is saying, sorry, but your vin is not included in recall. i called infiiniti, they stated that exactly and there was no remedy other than paying for repair ourselves. it is a scary, dangerous defect that obviously was not corrected, or another issues arose, with the recall. a g35 coupe is a small, low-riding car, and i have a child in the back. if you are going at interstate speed with a semi on your tail and your car stalls, your child in the back, and possibly yourself, would not survive this crash. infiniti said, yes, they did have similar complaints, but still would not remedy. i asked if a person has to die before they admit there is a defect that needs to be fixed. unfortunately we no longer have the i35 to prove that had the same issue. we are getting the g35 repaired before someone gets killed but i am furious that this is not a covered repair by infiniti. i will try to retain the part to the g35. *tr

 1) called the dealership and was told there is a technical bulletin on how to fix the problem but it wasn't a recall and will cost approx. $800 due to a malfunctioning of a circuit board. 2) the climate control and radio are inoperable about every other time we start the car. i read current recalls for this exact problem for the sedan and not the coupe. i just don't understand that. i know there are other's with the same issue. hope this become a recall soon. *tr

My friend and i are driving through atlanta on i-285 and my 2003 infiniti g-35 stops instantly causing us to almost have a serious crash possibly killing ourselves and others, i had my car taken to an auto salon and the diagnostics equipment read cam or crank sensor malfunction, i called 2003 infiniti services due to a recall on this car with this problem and the recall informed customers to be cautious of this problem because it could cause engine to shut off without warning for 2003 models, well i contacted them and the infiniti representative explained that my car did not make the 2003 recall since my car was manufactured in 2002 of january, as if the same problem does not exist. *tr
