In june of 2009, the air bag warning light came on. it was served at the dealer (replaced driver side air bag module costing $735.50). in october 2010, i was notified of a recall concerning the air bags on my car. no warning lights were illuminated, but i took it to the dealer and they made repairs at no cost. i notified infinite consumer affairs about having repairs made to the driver's air bag prior to the recall and they reimbursed my initial cost ($735.50). the air bag warning light began flashing again april 6, 2011. when i called the dealer, they said it was safe to drive and just bring it in when i could. i took it to the dealer on april 11, 2011, and they diagnosed the problem being with the air bag module on the passenger's side at a cost of $487.82 to repair it. they said it had nothing to do with the recall of 2010 and would not offer any financial assistance at this time (yet i was reimbursed for the driver side air bag repair after the 2010 recall). they reset the light and it is no longer flashing. i told them i wanted the repair and did not think it was safe to drive a vehicle with faulty air bags. they said they are ordering the parts and will notify me when they come in. they also said the flashing light would eventually come back on. i have spoken with infinite consumer affairs and opened a case #xxxxxxx. after researching this issue, it appears to be a reoccurring problem with this make and model. i can't understand how these issues are not related. i am concerned about the safety of the car if it was involved in an accident before it is repaired. i wonder if infinite is being forthright about the air bag issues. i wonder how many others are affected.
