| I have a 2006 infiniti m35x. i've had it for about a year. ever since i purchased it, i have noticed sudden jerking in the steering wheel. the car seems to be all over the road i've brought it in to have it serviced/looked at, they tell me nothing is wrong. when i drive the vehicle, i most certainly can tell something is seriously wrong! it's dangerous, the way the vehicle pulls from left to right, in and out of lanes. i've done some research online and have learned that many many other people are having the same problems. many of which are blaming a faulty steering rack. this is a very dangerous flaw with the infiniti m35. i have had alignments and brand new tires. neither of these are the problem. it seems this problem has been going on for quite sometime with several complaints and it doesn't seem like anyone is doing anything about it. after lots of research, i think it is imperative that someone look into a possible recall on the steering rack of the infiniti m35 models 2006-2009, as these are the years which look to be having the same problems. *tr | |||

| **steering issue.****when coming to stops doing local driving, vehicle front end steers to either side of road, but more so to the right. it often feels as thou front steering system is loose. when driving at highway speeds it is even worst, car wants to pull to left or right aggressively and requires constant correction of direction of steering as im driving. living in nyc where road quality isnt exactly peachy, this is dangerous issue. ive changed tires and got an alignment, however the issue still remains. reported it to the dealership, but was not given any resolution to the issue. the new tires and alignment did not correct the issue. there needs to be a proper invesgation into this matter and a recall done. especially if it turns out that so many people are reporting the issue. such a large number of customers cant be doing something wrong and have the same issue. | |||

| When making right turns the steering vibrates and loud noise.the issue is the steering rack on awd models. iinfiniti canada did not want to replace it since my vehicle is out of warranty by 5000km. i have a big concern that at some point the steering rack might fail and lead to a crash. this issue should definitely be covered by infiniti. there are numerous reports of this problem, and infiniti even has a technical bulletin regarding this problem, and an updated part that is supposed to fix the issue. the price of the part alone is 1000$, and i think that infiniti should cover the costs, because it is a factory warranty. | |||

| I own a 2006 infiniti m35x and this car suffers terribly from erratic handling, often referred to as tramlining. this car is almost uncontrollable on rutted or crowned roads at any speed and requires constant corrective steering to avoid having this car 'dart' into the oncoming traffic or off the highway completely. my wife will not drive this car because of this defect. this problem has been reported numerous times for this model year and later, yet no recall or advisory has been posted. this design flaw will kill, and probably has killed, someone if it is not corrected. dealers frequently attribute this to tire type/brand, tire wear, or alignment but the comments of others posting make it clear that these are not solutions. the problem persists after these steps are taken. the steering rack design is flawed and only after this is replaced does this problem go away. *tr | |||

| Normal driving on highway the car suddenly pulled to the left moving in to the oncoming traffic lane then pulled side to side. aggressive counter steering and slowing down was required to get the car to straighten out. dry road 65 mph this is apparently a recurring problem with m35's. fortunately the oncoming lane was clear or there would have been a head on. this is a serious defect which should be forced to be corrected by infiniti. had a previous experience like this and replaced the tires and got an alignment. this did not help it is a steering system problem. this is a serious recurring steering control problem that is well documented by owners on blogs and owner sites like http://forums.nicoclub.com please note that there are a relatively few number of m35x models on the road so high accident rates are not going to be apparent. this should be a recalled item now. *tr | |||

| Bought car in oct/2008. after first month noticed erratic steering problems. searched online and found several others who had same problem. car pulls to right or left very erratically even on smooth flat roads. took car to only infiniti dealership 3 times. they drove car and suggested i buy new tires before they would look at any steering issues. the tires that were on the car only had 3000 miles on them. replaced tires anyway with second set. car still had same problems. took car back to dealership, tech drove 6 miles and said nothing was wrong with the car. called infiniti consumer affairs to notify of the problem and poor service from infiniti dealership. consumer affairs spoke with dealership and both refused to fix the car. this car is under factory warranty with an extended warranty and was told that this steering is normal for the car and they were not going to fix it. i even gave them contact info for other dealers that have replaced parts on other cars for the same problem. this car is unsafe. dealer did not take time put on the rack to inspect or properly test drive. terrible dealership with terrible service!! *tr | |||
