POWER TRAIN - MANUAL TRANSMISSION

Transmission has been repaired five times, always the same components, which is the high low sincro, first time at 136035 miles july 24, 1998 there have been two other breakdowns of the exact same problem prior to sept 11, 2000 one at 194000 miles and then again on october 13, 2000 at 302,000 miles. this normally leaves the truck in high range, but sometimes leaves it in a neutral position which presents a safety problem.
STEERING - WHEEL AND HANDLE BAR

Retaining nuts on spicer yoke assembly become loose. this year we have had four failures on yokes due to this problem. the truck we own was originally owned by richard kurtz, watertown, wi. i have been the driver of this truck since it was ordered new. the first yoke went out in pennslyvania when i was at a stop sign, and needed to be towed at that time. this when the truck was new. capital city international should have a record of this on file for this truck. we have had the yokes replaced in april, june, sept, and now this week again this year. head gaskets were replaced in nov. all three heads were leaking. this condition was not covered by warranty or recall, even though i understand that cummins engine has had a problem with other trucks, and with certain antifreeze additives. my truck did not fall under either of these conditions. *ak
