Defect SummaryThe seal on the vent caps of these batteries can be broken due to a crack at or above the screw in thread. the crack is caused by use of an incorrect material in the production of the vent caps.
Consequence SummaryThe vent caps can eventually separate from the battery,and the broken seal can result in leakage of hydrogen gas into the enginecompartment, which can cause an explosion.
Corrective SummaryReplace the defective batteries.

 Dt: this is a 16 feet enclosed cargo trailer where the brakes wired up, the wire on the frame was scotch locked which was a factory job. the scotch lock and the rubber kept the water. the consumer was concerned about snowy/icy conditions which could turn into a 20 lb block of ice and tear the wires apart. the consumer contacted the dealer, who urged the consumer to contact the manufacturer, however they were not willing to assist. the consumer noticed this on april 26, 2005. *ak
