2005 isuzu ascender ~ oil gauge stopped working about 2months ago (august 2011) and the speedometer went out shortly after that. took it to the dealership and was told it was probably the fuses. changed the fuses out, but that didn't help! in fact there is even another problem now! the system panel lit up... (sept.2011)...w/ lights and bells that read (check brake system) which is a safety issue, so i immediately took it in to be checked and was told the brakes are all in great condition and was not the problem! well there is a big problem if all the owners of this type of vehicle are all having the same issues and not getting any help from the manufacturer!!!!

Tl- the contact owns a 2005 isuzu ascender. the contact stated that the contacts foot was on the brake when the rpm's went to up to 3500. the contact put the vehicle in neutral and the vehicle continued to rev at 3500 rpm's. the contact turned off and on the vehicle and the vehicle then drove normally. the dealer nor manufacturer were contacted of the failure. the failure and current mileage was 85,000. also, the vehicle's fuel gage was reading inaccurately. nw

Speedometer failed. driving around 30 mph when the gauge jumped to the end of the meter and dived back down quickly. gauge will intermittently work but only for short timeframes but then will be off by 20 to 70 mph and jump at irractic moments. issue happened around 95k.

The vehicle spedometer works intermitently. it will work fine for 5-10 minutes of driving and then does not register the correct speed and eventually stops working all together. i understand this is a well documented problem and that gm is aware of the problems. i contacted isuzu customer service and was told that a broken spedometer is not a safety issue. when i questioned that statement the representative did admit that it is a safety issue, but gm is not doing anything about the known problem. a 5 year old car with less than 50,000 miles should not have this kind of problem.

My isuzu speedometer stopped working. i took it to the dealer and they said that it was not a recall issue. i cant see how something like that is not my car only has 70,000 miles on it and should not be having problems like that.

Dt*: the contact stated while driving various speeds with pressure applied to the gas pedal after the vehicle was recently decelerated or stopped, the rpm gauge spiked really high then slammed down. the engine light illuminated and immediately turned off. the vehicle was taken to 3 separate dealers who determined that all parameters were okay based on the scan test. the last dealer installed a flight recorder to record any irregularities. the contact was advised to depress a button when there were any irregularities present. none of the service dealers could determine the problem with the vehicle. the manufacturer was notified twice but no resolution was provided other than to call the better business auto line.

Dt: the contact states two engine lights come on and the vehicle immediately lost power, but did not stall. when she tried to depress the accelerator pedal nothing happened. the contact pulled the vehicle over and had it towed to the dealership. this happened four separate times. the dealership was unable to diagnose the problem. they have replaced the throttle body and the appropriate sensor. the vehicle is currently at the dealership for this problem. *ak
