I took my 2007 isuzu i-290 truck into dealer back in dec. of 2010 because the reduce power light came on and was only able to drive about 15 miles/hr. while driving or idling the engine would just kill. still under warranty with approx 68,000 miles, i took it into the dealer for repairs, all they did was change the camshaft actuator. 5 months later, i started experiencing the same issues. diagnostic readings came back that sensors needed changing. i replaced both sensors but it did not resolve the problem and eventually the engine killed and would not restart. i returned to the dealership in late aug./early sept. 2011 and was told that there were shavings in the engine and would need to be replaced, at my expense. i tried calling the isuzu motors owners relations line and after being on hold for what seemed like forever, all they would do is refer me to a dealer in my area. also, i filed a claim with the auto bbb who rejected my claim because of the mileage. which is confusing because the power train warranty was still active when i went in oct. of 2010. the vehicle was only 3yrs old. i had a new engine put in and just picked up the truck on saturday april 28, 2012. on april 30th, while driving, the check engine light started blinking and the power reduced to 15 miles again and then the truck stalled. the next day the dealer called and said that they are getting at least 15 different diagnostic codes but they all seem to point to the camshaft cranks. same problem, new engine!!!!

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 isuzu i-290 l-series. the contact stated that the vehicle activated in reduced power mode without warning. the vehicle independently decelerated to 30 mph and became hesitant to acceleration attempts. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer where the dealer reprogrammed the ecm but to no avail. the contact then took the vehicle to a local mechanic where the mechanic also reprogrammed the ecm. again, the reprogramming did not remedy the issue. the contact believed that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. there were no further repairs. the failure mileage was 39,552. kmj

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 isuzu i-290 l-series. the contact stated while driving the vehicle suddenly went into reduce power mode. the reduce power mode reduces the speed of the vehicle to 30 mph disabling the vehicle to accelerate. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and the dealer reprogrammed the ecm. the reprogramming of the ecm did not remedy the issue. the contact took the vehicle to a local mechanic and the mechanic reprogrammed the ecm as well. again the reprogramming did not remedy the issue. the contact stated the vehicle was unsafe to drive. the failure mileage was 39,552. jo
