| Front bumper collapsed from impact. inspection by autobody repair revealed that bumper was previously replaced with a reconditioned unit that apparently had been straightened and replated. previous owner was contacted and confirmed that an earlier accident had required bumper replacement and that his insurance carrier would only repair damage with a reconditioned part. as bumpers are a safety item, is there any requirement that an insurance carrier must repair with original parts? i don't know if this is in your area, if not i would appreciate any information as to who i might contact. thank you.*ak | |||
