Lug nuts snap off everytime tires are removed for rotation. this is not the mechanics fault. it is a defect and isuzu should be paying for the replacements. i'm getting soaked everytime i take my car in for rotation of my tires, which should be free because i purchased the tires at the establishment. instead, i am getting charged $80-$100 everytime because the lug nuts break off and have to be replaced! based on what i see on this website, this is a known problem and isuzu should be footing the bill for this. dt

While having tires rotated, the lugs: nuts broke. hubs also had to be replaced. manufacturer and dealer deny this is a problem with other isuzu rodeos, and say the warranty will not pay for the repairs. therefore they're trying to sock me with the $650 dollar bill. as i can tell by your reports this is a common problem with this type of vehicle, and this should be listed as a defect and the warranty should pay.

For the 2nd time the lugs & studs on the isuzu rodeo have either broken/cracked or stripped when a tire roation is being preformed. both times service representative manuelly tried to remove the lugs . and afterwards tried to tighten the lugs. as a result i have had to replace the entire rear axle - since the studs are built from the inner side outward. now with several lugs stripped again, i fear i will have to replace the axle again. *ak

Stud and lugs are made of soft metal, that wears and sieze up when trying to remove them. replacement are made with the same metal at a cost of 8 per lug and lobor. heat is causing this problem along with friction.

Took vehicle in for a routine check, and mechanic noticed two front wheel lugs: nuts were stripped, mechanic had to break the nuts to get them off. consumer felt this could be a safety issue because 3 out of 5 of lug: nuts were stripped, could just spend nuts around, and wheel was not secure.*ak
