Three or four weeks ago i received the following note from isuzu: isuzu motors limited has determined that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in certain model year 2000 troopers having 4-wheel drive and automatic transmissions equipped with tod (torque-on-demand). in certain types of high-speed, frontal crashes, an interior fuel line and fuel hose can be separated, allowing fuel to leak from the vehicle. fuel leakage could cause a fire and result in serious injuries or death. i tried to contact two isuzu dealers in my area. one in san francisco and one in santa rosa, which is where i purchased the vehicle. the dealer in s.f. said they were too busy to take care of this, and the one in santa rosa did not even know what i was talking about but promised to look into it and get back to me. a week and a half later i still did not hear from them. when i called the isuzu care team, i was told that all they can do is help me locate dealers in my area but can not force them to do anything - basically useless. this sounds like a potentially serious problem that is not receiving the proper attention.

I checked my oil level 3 weks ago and it was fine. i chnge my oil every 3000 miles. i added a quart 3 days ago for a long trip i was taking. while driving down to billings, mt, my car sddenly stopped. it had not overheated or shown a warning sign. my car was bone dry of oil! the engine has seized. i did everthing right...this is clearly a design flaw in the car.
