Defect Summary | On certain motor homes built with cummins isl cm850 diesel engines, the connecting rod contains a machining defect in the wrist pin bushing of the rod that could cause a seizure of the piston pin. | |||||||||||||||
Consequence Summary | If allowed to progress, this can lead to engine failure with the possibility of the rod rupturing the lock cavity, spilling oil and debris onto the roadway increasing the risk of a crash. | |||||||||||||||

Defect Summary | Winnebago is recalling 31 my 2006-2008 itasca cambria, horizon, winnebago access, adventurer, journey, minnie winnie, signtseer, tour, vectra, and voyage motor homes equipped with ricon platform style wheelchair lifts. these lifts fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 403, platform lift systems for motor vehicles. the anti-stow interlock may not detect the presence of a wheelchair or mobility aid user. the pressure sensing switch that detects the presence of weight on the platform was not adjusted to the necessary sensitivity level. the lift could stow even though someone or something is still on the lift. | |||||||||||||||

On november 28, 2010, odi received voq 10368002 which alleges that the towing hitch installed as original equipment in a 2006 model year winnebago itasca vehicle had cracked / partially fractured. a completely fractured tow hitch may allow the towed vehicle to separate from the towing vehicle in an uncontrolled manner while being towed risking injury to pedestrians and occupants of vehicles being operated in the proximity to the separation incident. |
