Defect SummaryWinnebago is recalling certain model year 2006 through 2011 winnebago view and itasca navion motor homes because the dinette area seat belt restraints on those vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 210, seat belt assembly anchorages. in a collision, the generated crash forces can cause the restraint's attachment to tear and allow the anchor to separate from the body of the vehicle.
Consequence SummaryIf the restraint separates from the vehicle during a crash, the belt will not properly restrain the seat occupant, increasing the risk of injury or death to the occupant.
Corrective SummaryWinnebago has not yet provided a remedy and an owner notification schedule for this campaign. owners may contact winnebago at 1-800-537-1885.

Consumer writes in regards to early failures on mercedes 642 v6 engine *tgw the consumer purchased a winnebago navion motorhome which came equipped with an engine manufactured by mercedes. the consumer stated the rv started to shift in a strange manner after a few hundred miles, then after a thousand miles, the shifting became very erratic, so the consumer did mostly manually shifting. after the egr was replaced, the rv shifted fine. however, at 23,576 miles, the power steering pump failed and two pins the held the pump in place failed. *jb

While driving on the expressway in my 2007 itasca navion, the turbo resonator failed. that caused the speed to drop quickly to 40 mph. i nearly avoided an accident with a truck that was behind me. the part is made of plastic and is in a hot environment. the seams separate and causes the vehicle to go into limp home mode. this defect has been discussed widely in several internet forums. the part was replaced by a dodge sprinter dealer and the parts man said that they have replaced many of them. *tr

I have a 2007 itasca navion with a 2.7 mercedes benz diesel engine on a dodge sprinter chassis. this past saturday, may 29, 2010, i had to take my rv into kings dodge to have my third resonator replaced because when one goes out, you cannot go over 45 mph on the interstate, and this is dangerous. my rv only has 15,649 miles on it!, so i think that a recall needs to be made, by you, so mercedes benz corrects this resonator problem. i got online with this problem and could not believe the number of resonator complaints there were. thank you for your help.. *tr
