I have a 2000 jaguar s-type that was recalled for front control arm and lower ball joints back in november of 2000. however when i took it to the jaguar dealer to get replaced because mine is defective the dealer told me my vin# was not included in the recall. is there a specific reasoning behind having certain vin#'s recalled and not others? i would really appreciate if my vin can also be included because per the dealer my car is in serious jeopardy of malfunctioning while i'm driving which could end in an accident that can cause bodily harm up to and including death. can you please respond to my email regarding this issue. *tr

A jaguar 2000 was purchased on dec 2003. it had 39000 miles. i have only put on 4000 miles on this car and the ball joint broke the other day and i was almost killed. the car was towed to a local foreign auto place and jaguar refuses to repair the ball joint. claiming they will only take the claim from a registered jaguar dealer. so the car was towed today to momentum jaguar on the sw freeway and i was told that the ball joint was replaced on the drivers side in april 2001 and it broke again???in less that 43000 miles we have had 2 defective ball joints?? and the passenger side is defective as well and needs to be changed!! this is a serious defect and jaguar is disclaiming any and all responsibility...it also has a/c problems and electrical problems. the sensors do not work and were replaced last year. the window regulators broke and were charged to me.. the rear passenger side of the car is falling off ....it is always overheating . it is unbelievable and i only drove it 4000 miles in the last 2 years that i own it!!!!!!surely this is a lemon in the first degree!!!! *jb

Dt: the contact took her vehcile into the mechanic for an alignment because her car was moving all over the road, and the mechanic noticed the problem with the ball joints then. the contact says that last tuesday she took her vehcile to have it serviced and the mechanic noticed that her passenger lower ball joint on the front was loose so he tightened it for her according to specification and told her that it was a manufacturer problem. at the time on tuesday she was unaware of the recall of the vehcile until saturday may 7th. on saturday the ball joint broke and the drivers side ball joint is loose now. the ball joint broke while she was driving and her tire came a loose and caused the front end to fall down causing her to loose control of the vehicle and done extensive damage. she has contacted the millenium dealership and they told her that they could not fix the part because the ball joint was replaced in 2001 because of a recall on the ball joint and the dealership told her that the manufacturer will not replace the ball joint but the dealership will not give her anytime of service record stating that the recall did take place. dealership furthur stated that there wasn't a recall.*ak
