A jaguar 2000 was purchased on dec 2003. it had 39000 miles. i have only put on 4000 miles on this car and the ball joint broke the other day and i was almost killed. the car was towed to a local foreign auto place and jaguar refuses to repair the ball joint. claiming they will only take the claim from a registered jaguar dealer. so the car was towed today to momentum jaguar on the sw freeway and i was told that the ball joint was replaced on the drivers side in april 2001 and it broke again???in less that 43000 miles we have had 2 defective ball joints?? and the passenger side is defective as well and needs to be changed!! this is a serious defect and jaguar is disclaiming any and all responsibility...it also has a/c problems and electrical problems. the sensors do not work and were replaced last year. the window regulators broke and were charged to me.. the rear passenger side of the car is falling off ....it is always overheating . it is unbelievable and i only drove it 4000 miles in the last 2 years that i own it!!!!!!surely this is a lemon in the first degree!!!! *jb

Three events of window mechanism breaking within a six month period. while parked tried opening window for air flow, all three times. dealer was contacted and repaired the three windows. no tests for defects were done. replacements costs approx $600, $355 and half of the third window replacement cost was covered by the dealer. jaguar refused any statistics on this type of repair and refused referral to a supervisor. window tint was damaged in each case. jaguar refused any liability due to non-purchase of extended warranty, although extended warranty does not cover windows.

The regulators brackets that hold windows are breaking for no reason, ending in damages worth over $500 including labor, to change the of the regulator is included...also the cheap plastic brackets on the headlamps break as well, once a vehicle hits a pot hole hard enough, lamp it self costs over $1000 not including the labor. *nm

The outside mirror on the driver's side was replaced with an original equipment mirror from the dealer. the replacement mirror was convex rather than flat, creating a safety hazzard. the mirror did not have the objects in mirror are closer than they appear warning on it. there may be a batch of convex mirrors without warnings that can be installed on the driver's side.

Six months ago i noticed a crack on the passenger side of the windshield. the crack was noticed hours after car was parked. two days ago another crack appeared on the driver side of the windshield. both cracks are similar in nature, and both are near the side columns at about 9.5 inches from the bottom of the windshield. dealer inspected the vehicle and dismissed any windshield manufacturing, or stress point defects due to chips on the glass. escalation to 1800-jaguar was not useful, as they only thing they did was act as a mediator to the dealer, instead of concerned with the reasons behind the cracked glass. *la

Incident 1: the windshield wipers has failed at least 10 times during a two year period. i have reported the incident to the manufacturer at least 5 times. several of jaguar field service technicians has tried to repair the problem but with no success. after each attempts to repair the problem, i would check the windshield wipers for the next couple of weeks to make sure everything is ok but unfortunately they fail at the most hazardous times during stormy, rainy weather conditions. incident 2: i was rear-end in the center lane of two merging major expressways and the electrical system completely failed. it took the dealer 3 months to get the electrical system started. incident 3: the vehicle will roll while in drive if i am on an incline.*ak |
