Defect SummaryCertain passenger vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 135, passenger car brake system. the brake fluid master cylinder reservoir is recessed and oriented in the engine compartment beneath a leaf screen, such that the brake fluid warning statement embossed on the top of the reservoir body is not visible by direct view.
Consequence SummaryThis does not comply with the standard.
Corrective SummaryOwners will be sent letters which will include installation instructions and labels containing the required warning statement. if they prefer, owners may contact dealers to have them install the labels. the recall began on january 25, 2005. owners may contact jaguar at 1-800-452-4827.

 Xenon headlamps wont balance and blinds oncoming traffic. air conditioning system failure until vehicle is turned on and off several times. this is an s type r.

 At 11 miles a small noise was there. i look at tires & saw nothing. after road trip told service tech and salesman. was told rock in tire, at 53 mile noise came back. called salesman, and general manager was told to bring it in to shop monday. paint has scratches threw out car paint.

 Climate control and navigation system. the dealer informed me that the climate control system and navigation system do not work together. when the outside temp reaches 85 or above the a/c will not work. i must turn the car off to reset. if the outside temp is below 45, the heat does not work. i have been informed that the fix will be out in feb of 2004. this problem started in june of 2003. i have made dozens of calls to the local dealer and national. the last i heard was that the fix is out and a technician is working his way across the us fixing each car. *la

 2003 jaguar drivers side window will not roll up/down. front ball joints needed to be replaced. *ts the air conditioner was blowing out hot air, the dealer stated the evaporator was leaking freon. the rear bumper was broken. the abs control module needed to be reprogrammed. the brakes needed to be replaced. the rear lights were inoperative. *jb the consumer believes the odometer on the vehicle was rolled back prior to purchase and that the vehicle was in an accident. *nm

 Numerous problems with s type r - headlights will not balance(blinds oncoming traffic), air conditioning failure until car is turned on and off, after 5 attempts to correct problems they still exist. we filed a lemon law and proceeding with arbitration. *jb
