The problem started when taking the state of georgia mandated emission test. the vehicle was service 3 weeks before the deadline. all phases of the test was completed except for the evaporate part. so that put the vehicle in not-ready status. we had the vehicle check and rechecked until its pass emission testing march ,2012. renewal of our progressive vehicles insurance, i can across the vehicle center section on the website. the jaguar information was entered and there were 4 recall and 40 tsb. just before the last emission test the vehicle was scanned for codes their were two issues in which reoccured every since 2006. nhtsa #10017717, batch #30309 and 623791, batch #30701. i called jaguar corporate office (201) 818-8500 to see what could be done to resolved these problems..the part of phone call i did not liked, the customer care person stated the government put information out on vehicle all the time, its don't means anything. also i learn georgia suppose to have all recalls and tbs in there emission testing data base. this is a short version of the frustration we have with jaguar, when the informations is there for them. # 623791 can happen on the expressway with the loss of power. please help with a solution. *tr

I was driving from atlanta to cleveland averaging 75 mph somewhere in tennessee when i turned on the cruise control and without warning the vehicle just shut down. i was able to coast to the shoulder and restart the vehicle and completed the trip to cleveland without using the cruise fearing the vehicle would leave me stranded. luckily (or not) this event happened at 2:00am and the nearest vehicle was a semi truck about half a mile behind me. *tr

I own the following automobile: 03 jaguar x-type sajea51d33xc89540. this car was purchased in july of 2002, from howard orloff jaguar in chicago illinois. this car has given me nothing but problems. i have had the car serviced several times last year, for engine ticking, and the check engine light coming one. this year, i have had this car serviced three times for the following: 1. tick in the engine 2. leather discoloring 3. carpet coming from under molding 4. heating vents coming out of dashboard 5. rain sensors not working' 6. windshield wipers not automatically working 7. hole in carpet on driver's side 9. being locked out on several occasions, the alarm switches were not working, and the key would not open the door. 10. the transmission gear box has been replaced, because the transmission jerks, and there was a ticking sound coming from the gear box. 11. the car would not start; they had to replace the battery. i am having the car towed tomorrow for the following reasons: 1. ticking in the engine 2. the check engine light keeps coming on 3. abs system malfunction light comes on 4. there was an excessive amount of brown stuff leaking from under my car yesterday. 5. when i got in the car and cut on the heat, i did not have any heat. 6. the car would not start, three times in a row...then it just started up 7. the car will not allow you to take the key out of the ignition although this is an entry level jaguar, the car does not have that many miles on it, and it should not be giving me these major problems...especially the same issues over, and over again. *nm

The 2003 and perhaps 2002 jaguar x class have a low outside temperature screen that becomes visible when the car's thermometer reads 38 degrees outside; this normally occurs when driving subsequent to the car being garaged; to shut off this screen the driver must look to the left of the steering wheel and then down to find and press a reset button for 5 seconds; this presents an unsafe situation as the drivers eye contact is no longer on the road; moreover, the owner's manual claims the screen is suppose to shut off automatically after 4 seconds (page 4-12); the company and dealer i bought an x class from have been notified and refuse to respond to the issue. jaguar told me the owners manual can be wrong and the dealer responded that it is a black ice warning. (i do not know what blace ice is.)
