| Problem: automatic speed limiter malfunction while traveling at 69 mph setting. page 87 of owner's handbook states in certain conditions, such as a steep downhill gradient, the vehicle speed may exceed the set speed limit. this is because engine braking is unable to maintain or redude the vehicle speed. asl allows select between cruise control and asl. once set, futher accelerator petal pressure will not increase speed beyond set speed. system failed, and a surge in speed to 90 mph from set 69 mph happen.incident immediately reported to jaguar of huntington,1249 e. jericho turnpike, huntington, ny, 11743(631-427-2708) tech could not duplicate customer complaint at that time. accelerator pressure had been applied due to many hours of operating from trip from florida to huntington, ny(selling dealer's location). asl may have become disable and erronoursly responded to petal postion. hard braking applied to avoid colision with merging vehicles on i 95 in maryland. | |||
