TIRES
02/01/1996
These tires haven't actually failed but they are absolutely the worst hydroplaning tires i have ever owned. at 40 mph on straight roads you feel like you're going to lose control. i bought a set to put on our jeep cherokee 2 weeks before the recall, although i didn't purchase the recalled size. i also have a set of the steeltex at on a ford f-250 pickup i purchased new and they are worthless on wet roads also.*ak (tiresize: lt23575r15)( dot number: tire size: lt23575r15 )

TIRES - TEMPORARY/EMERGENCY SPARE TIRE
02/01/19011
1994 jeep grand cherokee caught on fire due to small spare tire. **cc the consumer had a flat tire and changed it with the factory spare provided. about 10-15 miles down the road the consumer heard a pop and thought he had another flat. he exited the vehicle and saw smoke and flames coming out of the differential case. the consumer ran a safe distance and watch the vehicle burn because there was nothing he could do. the fire department arrived shortly after and extinguished the flames. the fire was caused by the factory spare which was too small (t-155/90 d16 26, with 28.8 tires on it). the consumer requested full retail value of the truck from the manufacturer. *nm
