| My 1999 jeep cherokee does not defrost righ-hand side of front window. left -hand side works very well. this happened before this year, but seemed to work ok at end of 2009. have tried to move selector control back and forth, did not help at all. takes some time for the left-hand side of defroster to clear right-hand side. my freind had a 1998 dodge durango and a 1996 dodge stealth that did the same thing. could this be a chrysler manufactoring problem? thank you. | |||

| Since there is no catagory for this issue i had to put visibility/wiper in order to even submit this form. there is no catagory for the heating system which there are a lot of problems!!! the accuator doors regulating the heat to the inside of the vehicle are broken. i thought by replacing the motor which controls them it would fix it. no such luck the doors are broken and not only are they almost impossible to reach without pulling the entire dashboard and console, the cost for it will be around $1500 and that is absurd for a part which is less than $100. the labor will be about $1300 to get to it. what is wrong with these people can't they design a vehicle that can be worked on without taking it apart to a level which makes me want to junk the car!! they should have put something other than plastic to control the heat in the vehicle. now it is the middle of january in new mexico and it is freezing. thanks jeep, i paid a lot of money for this suv and i'll never buy another amreican car again!! i had to replace the transmission 2 years ago at the tune of $3500. i rarely go on a dirt road let alone drive fast or reckless. a transmission going out at 65,000 is absurd and poor design and manufacturing. this car is nickling and dimeing me to death!! *tr | |||

| Sunroof: in the full open position, between 30 & 50mph, with the side windows up, or partially open, a horriffic vibration is felt in the cabin which is irritating to the ears, vocal chords, is so bad, that the radio speakers seem like they are ready to break. dealer refuses to arrange a meeting with chrysler rep to discuss the problem, which i feel is attributed to a bad design, which jeep is calling wind buffeting in the owners manual, indicating they know there is this problem. the starter failed, and rocking the vehicle to a better spot on the starter allowed it to start, but vehicle is still sluggish starting at times, seeming as though the batter is weak. jeep will not replace starter until a total failure. brakes.. bad vibration due to apparent warped rotors. these are being replaced on warranty without dispute, indicating that chrysler knows there is a problem with the rotors. this vehicle seems to be the lemon of the fleet only giving a maximum of 14.5mpg, highway, and less in city only, and does not idle smooth. *ak | |||

| As my husband and i were on our way to a relatives last weekend, the passenger side window lowered on it's own. i tried to roll it up with the drivers control, and my husband tried with the passenger control ( which has never worked well) but the window just continued to go down. i had my son look at it and he took everything off including door panel, and speakers, but he was not familiar with jeep windows and could not determine how to fix it. in the meantime, i have checked out some websites on this problem and found out that this is an ongoing problem with jeeps. now it is going to cost me between $250.00 and $600.00 to repair . please do something about this so no one else will have such an unexpected expense. *tr | |||

| Dt: during operation of vehicle at highway speed at approximately 65 mph the power windows acted erratically, and subsequently dropped into the door. drivers side window was open. took to vehicle a mechanic, where consumer was told that both motors were faulty/corroded, and poorly designed. they needed to be replaced. both motors were replaced for over $500.00 this was a fairly new vehicle. owner felt this should not had happened. owner was concerned that this occurred at high speed. no problems with windows since motors were replaced. *ak *tt *nm | |||

| The design of the power window regulator motor assembly appears to be flawed. there is a small plastic clip that is heat melted to the nylon movement assembly during manufacturing. this clip receives a great deal of stress during window operation and is doomed to fail from the beginning. when the clip fails, the window will unexpectantly drop into the door often resulting in broken or damaged glass. this could result in an accident if a driver is not prepared for this failure.*ak | |||

| Vehicle has been in shop for rough idle, pulls to the right, replaced passenger side rear window motor, replaced drivers side window motor, front rotors replaced at 9300 miles, transmission fluid leaks, vehicle rides like a chevette over bumps and makes creaking noises in front end, sounds like tires will fall off when on rough road, dealer says everything is fine, but it is not. has the worst ride than any other car i have ever had. vehicle makes horrible klunking noise when shifted from park to reverse. sounds like transmission is going to fall on ground. vehicle jumps into gears. on 7/30/99, i had started the vehicle and was standing behind vehicle when it jumped out of park to reverse and proceeded to throw me under the vehicle and then rolled over my legs. | |||
