2007 jeep grand cherokee laredo - randomly the vehicle will not start, when turning the key to in the ignition you can hear the relay clicking, engine does not crank or start. when the key is returned to the off position the data display below the tachometer momentarily states that the transmission is overheated. the battery is fully charged and everything else, lights, horn, etc still work. there are no error codes dumped. the first attempt to fix this by the dealership was to replace the starter, now 4 months later the vehicle is doing the same exact thing. this has become a reliability issue in that there is no telling when this will occur, each time family members have been stranded with this vehicle, jeep dealership seems to be stumped. i have read of many jeep vehicles that demonstrate this very same problem, without resolution. this can be an intermittent issue, usually have to wait until it becomes a hard fail before the dealership will look at it. this is extremely frustrating owning this vehicle not knowing when it will or will not start and whether the dealership can or cannot fix it! *tr

Was pulling from a stop sign when the vehicle suddenly shifted to fourth gear without touching shift left lever causing the vehicle to accelerate very slow and was almost hit by cross traffic because i could not get out of the way, luckly they swerved around me. i have read multiple complaints of same problem with shifting out of control. it must be a manufacturer defect. if it had not been for an alert driver the situation might have turned out differently for my family and i. jeep needs to remedy this problem before somebody is killed.

Have submitted a complaint before but the problem continues and has gotten worse. my jeep loses all electrical power and shuts down and restarts itself while driving, occasionally doesn't accelerate past second gear and other times accelerates very slowly, numerous but problem began recurring only days later. only now my jeep is additionally at times acting like it wants to shut down but instead is just faltering shaking the whole vehicle violently accompanied by the struggling to accelerate. - electrical system on five occasions all of dash lights came on and went off while i was driving, two of these times the engine stalled and restarted itself. took vehicle to dealership and was told no problem was found. numerous electrical issues. the most dangerous have been the prnd lighting up and vehicle not going over 1st or 2nd gear while driving. this has happened to me 7 times now, 4 of which have tried to be diagnosed by the dealer without success of this and gave it to the dealer when they told me 'nothing was wrong' according to their diagnostics. photo proved otherwise. also the vehicle has shut itself off twice while i was driving on a busy road. the windows also get stuck and will not work. have to operate one window to make the other one work. the battery failed and 'transmission over temp error happened at the same time. manufacturer's service agent said it was a false readout due to battery failure transmission. this has been a problem since firs started yesterday on 04 /10/2011 i need help my car is in newark nj

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 jeep grand cherokee. while driving 35 mph the engine stalled without warning. within seconds, the vehicle would restart without driver intent. the dealer replaced the ignition switch, the power-train control module, and the electronic control module; yet, the failure persisted. the contact voluntarily surrendered the vehicle to the manufacturer. he was concerned that the vehicle would be resold since it could potentially cause a crash to occur. the failure mileage was 39,000 and the current mileage was unknown.
