| Was driving to work going about 60 mph and motor just shuts off. had to pull off to the side of the road and turn off the key and tried to restart engine. it didn't start on the first try had to turn key off and tried again it started. it did the same thing when i was going home that morning had to do the same thing as above to get it started again. this is very dangerous i didn't have power steering or brakes luckily i wasn't on the freeway. *tr | |||

| While driving down the road the jeep shut off, complete loss of power, brakes and steering then after a few seconds turned back on. this had happened 4 times within 10 mile. this is not the first time that this has happened. i had taken it to the dealership so they could plug it into their computer. the results were negative and could not find any problems. searching online, there are several other jeep owners that are having the same problem. there needs to be a recall on these vehicles before someone gets hurt or killed. | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 2007 jeep commander. the contact noticed a flat metal plate underneath the vehicle that was striking against the stopper, causing a deep gash. the stopper is a curved metal plate that controls the steering wheel from turning too far left or right. the failure occurred without warning. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they stated that the failure was due to faulty design. the technician recommended that a diagnostic be performed. the contact is in the process of taking the vehicle back to the authorized dealer for a diagnostic. she was concerned of the safety risk involved. the vin was unknown. the failure and current mileages were 19,000. | |||
