| The cups inside the handles of both of the back doors of my 2006 jeep commander are broken to pieces. although this may sound like a cosmetic issue, yesterday, my 13 year old daughter threw up all over the inside of the truck because when we pulled over for her to throw up, she was completely unable to open the door!!! i cannot say how angry i am at this scenario. i am upset because i have to clean the car, but am furious because, had this been an evacuation situation, she could have died! i contacted my jeep dealership and was told that it will be over a thousand dollars to replace the entire door panels in the back. i'm sorry, but this should be a safety recall!!! | |||

| I own a 2006 jeep commander, and have 3 doors in which the interior door handle bezel has broken. by researching price of repair, i have found that this is actually a very common issue. i was told by my dealership that it was my own fault for being too rough on my door handles, however i have never had this problem with any other vehicle i've owned. i have 3 daughters ranging in age from 18 months to 14 years, and i doubt they should be strong enought to break door handles. i'm reporting this as i feel this is a defect from the manufacturer, in light of the multitude of examples i'm finding on the internet, and in talking to other commander owners. this is also a safety issue, since in the event of an emergency, my daughters may not be able to open the doors. examples of this issue: http://www.jeepcommander.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2858&page=1 http://www.jeepcommander.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15893&highlight=door+handle | |||

| '06 jeep commander 4x2 - (1) stalls intermittently during turns which are both from moving and stopped positions. many have occurred during a u-turn from a stopped position - unable to duplicate, in shop again (2) has a rough idle, which at times is more severe than others, but has never died - has just shaken severely a few times. there is no set pattern. it occurs during cold and hot weather, with electrical devices on or off, in park/neutral/drive, if the engine has warmed up or is still cold (3) the original windshield - continuous rock chips, cracks, etc - replaced @ 11,000k with a non-jeep brand glass and to date the new windshield has only 1 star chip. have heard the design of the windshield is reason for the windshield breaking easily, but the glass is not sufficient/durable (4) transmission fluid leaking from o-rings - replaced (5) rear spring seats squeaking - insulators replaced (6) excessive wind noise from front passenger side - at 22,500k dealership said only normal wind buff, at 24,000k dealership said unsure where it's coming from but will reseal front windshield (7) front driver window made grinding noise - motor replaced (8) short in audio/speaker system - radio assembly replaced (9) front driver power lock motor whining during autolock in cold weather (10) back up sensor doesn't sound until 1' before object (11) alert to check reverse sensor and wouldn't start- towed,battery replaced (12) middle seats hard to fold up (13) front windows go down instead of up(14)vehicle hesitates when put in drive/ reverse (15) steering whines. *tr | |||
