ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

As i was accelerating (after stopping at a stop sign), the vehicle shut off and steering became very difficult. i attempted to try to restart and that's when a lightning bolt icon was displayed. i looked in the manual and found out that the lightning bolt icon means that there is an issue with the electronic throttle control system. after approximately 10 minutes, i tried to start the car. the car started, however i decided to have the car towed to the nearest dealer due to grave concern about the issue reoccurring on a major highway. about 3 months prior to the above incident, i was driving up a hill and stopped at a stop sign. when i began to accelerate, the car felt as though it was not moving. i pressed the gas pedal down to the floor in an attempt to drive through the intersection. the rpm gauge was at its max, however the car was barely moving (it was moving at approximately less than 5 mph). the car felt as though it was going to stall, but it crept along at a slow pace. when i arrived at my destination, i turned off the car. later, when i restarted the car the issue did not reoccur.
