| For the past few years i have been buying p225/70tr15 dunlop gtq rwl tires for my 1993 jeep grand cherokee as replacement tires. three out of the last 4 tires i have bought have developed a welt just off centerline of tread from the inside out. the first couple of times i didnt think much of it as the tire dealer told me i might have hit something a long time prior to welt developing and it is just showing up now. the first of those tires was replaced on 6/19/02 and the second was replaced on 8/26/02. after approximately 13,000 to 16,000 miles later this condition appeared again. i noticed a vibration in the car and confirmed that a welt had appeared in the tire just of centerline. i was on my way back from a business trip which was just 200 miles from my home and the tire disintegrated while i was traveling on the highway. i feel that this condition has happened entirely too often and it is with the same tire brand and type. i have not been to the tire dealer yet, but i did want to report this in case there is a problem and other people are reporting it also. thanks for your assistance.*ak | |||

| Tire size p23575r15, tires have 15, 000 miles on them. tires were replacement tires for a jeep grand cherokee, dot number not available. consumer states when driving at 20 mph front left tire blewout. consumer has contacted the dealer. *ak consumer going slow on a dirt road when the side wall was failed. a vertical split about four inches long, the tire blew out completely, all at once. *yh | |||

| All four firestone radial atx ii (235-75r15) tires were replaced because the tread was separating from the tire causing one of the tires to go flat, consumer no longer has the tires in their possession but are requesting compensation for replacement tires. nlm | |||

| Traveling 70 mph when experienced 1-2 seconds of mild shakiness in car followed suddenly by sound that resembled jackhammer and extreme difficulty controlling car. once came to rest found that roughly 50% of tire tread width had separated and peeled back between 180-270 degrees of the tire circumference, leaving a flap that spun and destroyed rear bumper and splash guard (left), also causing damage to left quarter panel and left rear door and associated plastic moldings. i am currently sending a claim to the manaufacturer, whose number i got from the nhtsa hotline. i will send a copy of the cover letter to you. *ak( dot number: tire size: 23575r15xl ) | |||
