| The defrost only works 50% of the time. did not work while driving down the highway at 65mph. this was extremely dangerous as i could not see through the windshield. the next day was working fine and a week later i had the same issue. i had the heater core replaced and the issue is still happening. | |||

| I was driving on university approaching the stop light on 66th st in lubbock tx, as slowing down from approximately 35 mph, i heard an overwhelming loud bang come from the front of the jeep, it shook the entire vehicle it felt like i had hit someones car. i was getting leaving lubbock headed home to plainview. me and my daughter stopped at walmart where i left my vehicle idling for no more than three to ten minutes max. i came out from walmart and smoke was coming from my car. antifreeze was spilt out everywhere and the person parked next me that my car had overheated and to let it cool down before driving it again. i came back to lubbock yesterday with my daughter and i almost stalled on the highway but was able to make into the walmart parking lot. a friend pointed out the radiator fan was all busted up. the jeep will not start and is in the parking lot at the walmart on ave.q in lubbock. trying to figure out why it will not start up i believe it could be the radiator relay. | |||

| 'scraping' noise in front end when turning. unable to find cause, southview chevrolet said it was 'normal' in all jeeps. after searching the web, i found a discussion page for jeeps. after much research, i was told the fluid in the front axle was not full. i went to another jeep dealers, explained the problem and showed them the report. it was resolved and there were no futher issues with the axle. southview chev. is now defunct after the owner cheated clients out of millions of dollars. several more issues with my 2002 jeep grand cherokee overland are to follow... | |||

| I bought my 02 jeep grand cherokee in 05 with about 50,000 miles on it. sometime in 08 the blower motor started working off and on. after about 3 years i did some research and found that the most likely cause was the blower motor resister. after checking, i notice that the resistor harness had been melted. i did some more research and found that this was quite common. this should be a recall item because this is a serous fire hazard. if the wires were hot enough to melt the plastic sheathing, whats to stop it from causing a fire in an unsuspecting consumer's jeep? i was fortunate enough to have caught this early on, but if i wasn't, the cost of what if is not one i, my wife, or children are willing to pay. | |||

| Jeep 2004 and down have water leakage on passenger and driver sides due to a/c. i have spoken with several jeep owners and they experience the same problem. this can cause mildew and mold (health problems) to build up which also leaves a very ugly smell. the amount of water is ridiculous that when you lift the carpet the water is visible and you need to suction out all the water. unknown fix to this problem. i have read that the a/c system was poorly built and this problem is existent on 90% of all jeep grand cherokee laredo. it is not a drain problem from clotting and you can see the water dripping on the outside of the vehicle. | |||

| I don't understand how the nhtsa can ingnore the problem with the hvac blend door assembly unit on the wj jeeps. how can having no heat and no defroster not be a safety issue. i live in maine and can not afford the estimated $1200 repair to fix this widely known defect. try driving in 15 degree whether with snow on the roads and no defroster. guess what happens? your breath causes the windows to fog hence to the point on no visibility. i slid offthe road after hitting a snow bank on the side because i could not see and was trying to scrape the quarter inch on frost on my window off. this is ridiculous chrysler needs to do something. | |||

| Driving along the highway when the passenger window started to go down by itself. i had some paperwork in the car and it started blowing around, causing me to become distracted and nearly hitting another car on the highway until i was able to pull over safely. the window regulator failed, which is a common problem with the jeep grand cherokee | |||

| I have been having troubles with the blender doors closing all the time on my 2002 jeep grand cherokee limited. i have had the suv for not even 3 years and the doors have closed 4 times already. 2 months ago they closed and it cost $1,200 to fix it, now 2 months later the doors closed again today 5/27/10. this is getting out of hand. these blender doors have a defect and chrysler is not doing anything about it. | |||

| In march, 2005, with 59,000 miles, my 2002 jeep grand cherokee overland, which i purchased new in august 2002, needed a new rear differential. a replacement was also needed at 80,000 (july 2006), 86,000 (march 2007), and 98,000 (april 2008). as of this writing, the dealer has had the vehicle for over 3 weeks. in replacing first the bearings, then the gears, and then the entire rear end, they have been unable to solve the problem. attempts to contact chrysler have been unsuccessful. no one at the 800 numbers can offer any solutions. i have an extended warranty, so the repairs have been covered, minus my $100 deductible. but, i don't think the number of repairs is questionable. i've found a number of sites with other individuals reporting the same problem on this particular body style/model. perhaps there is a wide spread problem.. *tr | |||
