| Good evening, i own a 2004 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4x4. i had bought my vehicle a few years ago with about 18,000 miles on it. after taking it for a test drive there was a slight clicking noise from the front wheels. after today, the clicking noise seems to get louder at driving 25 mph. i tried to troubleshoot the problem by researching similar instances on the internet. there was a general consensus that a bad u-joint was the culprit due to a lack of permanent grease that should have been used by the manufacturer. given that this can lead to the vehicle losing control when the u-joint snaps can be lethal. please inquire whether this is a feasible issue that can be recalled for my vehicle. thank you. *tr | |||

| Dt*: the contact stated a popping noise occurred in the left and right side of the front of the vehicle while making a right or left turn and traveling as low as 5 mph. the noise does not occur while traveling straight. the vehicle was taken to a dealership who determined the right side ball joint was defective and was replaced. about one month later the noise reoccurred on the right and left sides. there is an nhtsa recall, # 06v288000, regarding the suspension: front: control arm: lower ball joint. the vehicle vin was not included in the recall. | |||
