All interior door panels are cracked around the door hadles. three out of four door handles have snapped off and the very last one is hanging on by a thread. the handles seem to be attached to the actual door panel which is comprised of hard plastic. the design of the door panel and the handle being attached is bad and a safety issue if you can't exit the vehicle if your car dies and you have no power to open the windows. additionally, if you need to force the doors open from the inside due to a wreck, car on fire, panicing etc., 9x's out of ten you don't have handles and any weight or pressure to remaining handles if any while cause them to just snap off. my car smells of gas constantly and the light comes on to tell me to check the gas cap. i eventually replaced the gas cap after checking it all of the time and now the car jjust smells of gas and my check engine light comes on sometimes. i've had the car checked by mechanics and the jeep dealer to no resolve. the constant gas smells give me bad headaches as well as concern when i'm driving.

Anytime i fill up my 2005 jeep grand cherokee with gas it doesn't shut off and over flows all over the place. it doesn't matter what gas station i fill up at it happens every single time. i have read many forums about this exact same problem and it does seem to be a recurrence with the jeep product. i have not corrected this problem as of yet because i feel it is a major issue with jeeps and should be recalled. this is dangerous and extremely inconvenient. a trip to the gas pump cost $45+ then carwash 5+ it's a pain just to get gas. you all should look into recalling the parts and making jeep fork over the money to fix this issues that is all over the internet so it's clearly a problem. *tr

I have a 2005 grand cherokee laredo under 3000 miles. my engine light has come on less than 10 times ,and my car has stalled when come to stop light or complete stop about 5 times. i have made 5 trips to the dealer and the first few times they could not find anything wrong with it. then they determined it was related to the remote start which they had installed. i got it back and they said it was fixed and it stalled out when i pulled into my driveway that very day. engine light came on again exactly 1 week later. engine light is still on now. this will be my 7th trip to the dealer for this problem. i would also like to say that i have also hit the key in the ignition twice which made the car shut off and my car has also revved up with the brake on just as the other complaints on this site. i am also only getting 12 miles per gallon!*ak

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 jeep grand cherokee. while driving 75 mph the vehicle completely shut off and the headlights went out without warning. the contact was able to restart the vehicle after the vehicle came to a stop. the dealer recommended cleaning the throttle body and the fuel injectors. however, they were unsure if that was the reason for the stalling. the current and failure mileage were 40,500. *ak the dealer was unable to identify problems because codes did not register after vehicle shut off. update 4/23/07*tr
