Purchased 2006 jeep grand cherokee new. within first 6 months have been taking it bake to the dealer for intermittent lack/stalling. this happens while driving at different speeds and mostly making slight turns or when i begin to turn as well as up and down hill. this has been going on for the last 2 yrs,but most recently has happened alot more offend. i have taken it to the dealer with no result each time. within the last 2 weeks is has stalled at least 7 times. 9/27/08 i was injured from slamming the breaks and fighting the steering to avoid a head on collision at an intersection while starting to make a turn. i did take it to the dealer and again with no result. the day i dropped it off at the dealer it shut down in their lot. i was told that this would have been recorded in the codes, but they told me they found nothing. the next day it stalled while dropping my son off at school. he was with me when i was injured so i can prove it does happen. i did call the dealer back and that was 3 days ago. they will not return my phone call let alone honor my warranty. this car is not safe.*tr

I bought my 2006 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4x4 used at 40,000 a year ago this month. shortly after owning it it started stalling while in motion or stopped in gear such as a traffic light. when sitting still, coasting and slowing down, the vehicle would die. the instrument panel did not light up and everything seemed normal until i took my foot off the brake to accelerate or just accelerated from a coast (such as a school zone slowly moving traffic), then i would realize the car had stalled. if i was on a hill going up the car would take off backwards. dies turning into parking lots, etc. i loose power steering. the brakes stopped me if i applied them. however, if i was in the forward moving position, i would just throw it in neutral and re-start the engine without problem. this concerned me, because i buy my vehicles used, i did not know if dirty injectors and throttle body was causing carbon residue to clog the injectors so i had it all cleaned. that did not fix the problem. i started researching on this site and spoke to the guys that do my service. the researched and found a notice about safety. i went to jeep website and found that there was such a notice about the brake system failure but no recall. several weeks later i received a recall notice and 2 computer flash updates were needed. this fixed my problem, at least since late november 2007. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 jeep grand cherokee. while driving 20 mph, the vehicle would not stop when the brakes were depressed this caused her to crash into the rear of another vehicle. the contact had the vehicle towed to the dealer (sports chrysler jeep) however they refused to repair the recall for the service brakes, hydraulic: antilock: control unit/module (nhtsa campaign id #07v434000). the manufacturer sent an investigator to inspect the vehicle and he stated that the recall was not the cause of the failure. as of december 5, 2007, the dealer had not repaired the vehicle. the current and failure mileages were 40,000.

The brake pedal on my 2006 jeep grand cherokee is 3.25 inches higher than the accelerator pedal (almost 2 inches higher than my other chrysler vehicle). i have caught my foot under the brake pedal when trying to brake, especially at highway speeds when the accelerator is depressed. this has nearly caused several accidents. the brake pedal is also farther toward the center of the vehicle with a wider space between it and the accelerator further exaggerating this problem. chrysler will not recognize this as a flaw. *jb

On several occasions my 2006 jeep cherokee has failed to come to a complete stop and the steering wheel locks up. i have taken it to the dealer on 2 occasions they have not been able to determine the cause of the problem. they have installed an auto pilot camera that i am supposed to turn on the next time this happened. it happened 30 minutes after i picked it up, and i can only hope that the camera caught the problem. the 2007 cherokee has a recall on the brakes, the 2006 jeep commander has had a recall on the brakes, and the 2005 jeep cherokee has had a recall on the brakes. please help. *tr
