We were driving our 2008 jeep grand cherokee on an open road at about 55mph when we heard a loud sound like a muffled gunshot over our heads. no other traffic was in sight and there was nothing overhead. when we pulled over to investigate, we noted that the sunroof was shattered and pooched up, yet intact. nothing struck the vehicle and it was not impacted from below. we drove it to the nearest dealer we could find with the nav unit a few miles away. we were met with hostility and basically called liars by the service staff when we told them what happened. it is currently in the dealers shop awaiting a new sunroof. we have had other chrysler products before and have had no issues. other than this incident the vehicle has been a joy to own.
