Defect SummaryChrysler is recalling 4,314 my 2009 dodge journey, jeep grand cherokee, commander and wrangler vehicles. wiring may be reversed on the steering column control module driver airbag squib connector. the driver's airbag may not deploy as intended.
Consequence SummaryIn the event of a crash, the driver's airbag may not properly inflate and may not be able to properly protect an occupant, increasing the risk of injuries.
Corrective SummaryDealers will inspect the driver's airbag squib wires and replace the steering column control module free of charge. the recall is expected to begin during may 2009. owners may contact chrysler at 1-800-853-1403.

 Tl- the contact owns a 2009 jeep grand cherokee. the contact stated that whenever it would rain, water would enter the interior of the vehicle. the contact stated that the failure would cause the radio and all other electrical components to become inoperable. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who made repairs to the sunroof but the failure was not corrected. the manufacturer was notified who informed the contact to continue taking the vehicle to the dealer for additional repairs. the failure mileage was 244 and the current mileage was 17,500. kmj

 Tl-the contact owns a 2009 jeep grand cherokee. the contact stated when it rains the interior of the vehicle fills with water. this causes the radio and all other electrical features to not work at all. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who repaired the sun roof because of the rain but the rain still comes through and wet the interior of the vehicle. the manufacturer was notified who informed him to continue to take the vehicle to the dealer for more repairs. the failure mileage was 244 and the current mileage was 17,500. mw
