Originally having issues slowing down going around corners and up a steep incline. felt like vehicle was staying in higher gear, you could down shift it manually. at that time there were no codes present in the system. then last year in august 2011 we did a cross county trip (7000 miles) vehicle would stall at both low speed and high speeds, not every day. sometimes vehicle would restart itself and others the key had to be removed and reinserted, but most times not. the weather did not seem to be a factor. upon return vehicle had approx 45,000 miles, codes retreived from vehicle were multiple. active codes: b2105, c121c pending code: p0524 stored codes p0129, p0688, p0884. at 35,000 miles new oem spark plugs and water pump (due to coolant leak) with new antifreeze. vehicle is serviced regularly every 3,000 miles since new. since 45,000 miles all related circuits and components have been inspected and checked for proper operation. new crank sensor and electrical ignition switch. code b2105 keeps recurring even without stall. all wiring connections and grounds have been cleaned and checked, new battery at 36,000. had vehicle to dealer and they said they may not be able to find problem. we have stopped driving this vehicle even though we are still paying for it because we feel that it is not safe. my husband has 40 years as certified automotive mechanic and is very frustrated with this vehicle.

I was driving down the road, only going around 15 mph, when my p r n d all lit up and i was unable to drive. i stopped and put it in park and tryed again and it ran fine. this happened on two other occasions. i was getting ready to leave and put my vehicle in drive and it jerked forward. i'm very dissappointed that i have to replace the electronic monitering system at such a low mileage, the cost for this is close to $400 and that is not pricing labor and not to mention dangerous for this to happen while you are driving.

Purchased 2007 jeep grand cherokee overland 5.7 on 11/30/2012. on 12/04/2012 i experienced stalling while decelerating to stop for a stop light, then the vehicle stalled showing code p0884. the vehicle started right back up when i turned the key with no signs of hesitation. ever since that day, my vehicle stalls on average about 8-10 times per week depending on how often i use the vehicle. it stalls mainly during idle or coming to a stop and the most frightening stall i have experienced was when i was traveling at 60mph on a major highway and the vehicle completely stalled, and instantly restarted itself. both times i experienced stalling at high speed was when i was doing about 60mph and both times the vehicle restarted itself on its own. but every time the vehicle stalls, i loose all power including power steering which worries me very much. apparently i am not the only 2007 jeep grand cherokee overland with the 5.7 motor owner experiencing this problem. i am one of the hundreds on owners involved in a group discussion on jeepforum.com where we discuss this problem and steps that jeep, private mechanics, and/or owners themselves have taken to correct this stalling problem. this problem has been going on for years and no one seems to have a solution. loss of power at 60mph is a very big issue and i worry that someone can be very hurt or killed by loss of power steering during stalling. i hope this issue raises concerns for my vehicle and i would be more than willing to allow someone from the nhtsa come and test drive my vehicle to experience what i and hundreds, possibly thousands of others are experiencing. thank you very much and if you should have any questions in regards to this problem, please do not hesitate to contact me any time. *tr

This is a continuing issue. the speed will suddenly decrease to 30 miles per hour without any action on drivers part. this is dangerous, especially on busy roads. we were told it was the front control module but after reading reviews it doesn't solve the problem. chrysler should be held responsible to identify the problem, then issue a recall. they are not interested in doing anything. we bailed them out?

The vehicle on numerous occasions dies out while moving causing the car to stop abruptly and also dies at stops. the issue is intermittent and despite numerous repair attempts replacing the following throttle body gasket cam sensor crank sensor trans fluid and filter egr valve the condition remains, it should also be noted that numerous other jeep grand cherokees (body designation wk) have had this issue and no repairs have been successful

I purchased my pre-owned 2007 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4x4 less than a month ago. i have had 4 instances of it not cranking. i took it back to the dealership where they replaced two sensors and reprogrammed the computer. i got my car back on friday. today is monday and it isn't cranking again. all electrical accessories work fine but the car will not crank. the battery, alternator, and starter tested fine. the suspension makes a god- awful squawking sound every time i drive anywhere.

Whilst driving my jeep grand cherokee (equipped with the mercedes benz common rail diesel (crd) 3.0 l engine) on i-410 at highway speed, the engine suddenly stopped, without any warning. this also made the power brakes and power steering inoperative. today, the dealer tells me that this is caused by a faulty crankshaft position indicator sensor and is a fairly common occurance. i should think this is a design flaw and should be corrected by the mfg.

When my 2007 jeep grand cherokee is in drive, there is a loss of power. the check-engine light comes on, and it's as if the car doesn't know whether it's in drive, neutral, reverse, etc. the dealer says i need a electronic shift module to the tune of $600+. after looking into this, i see it is a problem with many jeep grand cherokees. i am looking into getting jeep to take responsibility for the faulty part.

Auto transmission gear shift not shifting into gears correctly; loss power around curves; sometimes engine light comes on; sometimes all gear indicators come on on dash; feels as though can't accelerate when entering onto highway or passing. nothing done yet. called dealer, online searches. very very many same-similar online & very expensive repair $700+. appears to be defective part & should be recall/dealer replace/repair!!

2007/ 30 000 miles. shifter malfunctions intermittently and causes loss of acceleration by going neutral or sticking in 1st gear unexpectedly. typically, all the letters are lift prnd simutaneously and check engine light comes on. stopping and restarting (annoying and dangerous in highway driving) seems to reset the shifter. dealer says esm part no 52124138ad is responsible for the problem. i believe for safety reasons, there should be a recall on this part before somebody gets killed as a sitting duck in the middle of the highway.

Car would not start. it was towed to the dealership which had to replace the starter siliniod wire. the service department informed me this was a know design defect, but since i was just out of warentee (37k) i would have to cover the cost. if this is a know problem, why isn't it fixed.

This problem has occurred almost every day for two months. i will describe one incident, which occurred this evening around 11pm. i was driving on the highway in my 2007 jeep grand cherokee when my accelerator stopped having any effect on my car. all of the gauges died (so the fuel reported empty, the speedometer said i was not moving, etc) - all of this while traveling at 65mph. i had to pull over, turn the car off and back on, and all of the problems went away. as i've said, this has happened once a day for the past two months. so far there appears to be no fix for the problem.

I own a 2007 jeep grand cherokee laredo, 6 cyl 4x4. the vehicle has been losing power at highway speeds on an almost daily basis, usually while negotiating left hand curves. when the vehicle loses power, the traction control light turns on and the vehicle decelerates rapidly. during the power loss, i can put the accelerator to the floor and the vehicle will not accelerate. i have almost been involved in several rear end crashes due to this issue, as it happens without warning. the vehicle has been to the dealership 5 times for related issues. on 03/18/08 the abs wiring harness was re-routed because it was rubbing on the left front tire. the shifter module has also been replaced twice, however, the aforementioned problem is ongoing. the last time the vehicle was at the dealership was 09/25/09 and i was told that there was no computer code for the problem and that the dealership could not fix or diagnose the problem because they could not recreate it. i am afraid that if i continue to drive this vehicle it is inevitable that i will be involved in a collision as a result of this mechanical failure. i cannot afford to replace the vehicle and the dealership where i purchased the vehicle has been useless in fixing the problem. i am at my wits end and i am getting nowhere with papa's dodge. *tr

Engine shut down while driving at 65 mph. no prior problems - driving to a vacation destination on us 95, had been driving for @ 3 hours - took my foot off of the gas pedal and engine shut off, leaving me without any control over the vehicle- luckily, was able to steer to shoulder - was able to restart car within 5 minutes, however the engine shut down twice more during this trip under the same set of circumstances-just taking my foot off of the accelerator; again left without ability to control auto. reached my destination point and brought car to nearest dealer - received a call the following day that the car was repaired and that the integrated auto computer program failed and the computer program needed to be updated and re-installed. dealer noted that he had received notice of this issue occurring to other '07 jeep grand cherokees, but chrysler was not issuing a recall. it was mere luck that i avoided any accidents. *tr
