VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

This is a continuing issue. the speed will suddenly decrease to 30 miles per hour without any action on drivers part. this is dangerous, especially on busy roads. we were told it was the front control module but after reading reviews it doesn't solve the problem. chrysler should be held responsible to identify the problem, then issue a recall. they are not interested in doing anything. we bailed them out? *tr

Shortly after changing the spark plugs in my wife's 2007 grand cherokee overland the vehicle would stall on deceleration. i thought it might be an isolated incident, but the stalling continued frequently. the engine completely shuts down and the vehicle must be stopped or put in neutral while coasting to be restarted. after conducting some internet research i found this to be a common problem with the 2007 grand cherokees with hemi's. i was amazed at the number of occurrences of this happening among this vehicle. there are jeep forums (http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/2007-jeep-grand-cherokee-overland-stalling-problem-1147825/) that discuss this issue in depth. the vehicle stalls less frequently than it did when i first changed the spark plugs, but it still happens. the most recent occurrence was on november 1, 2013 when my wife was picking my son up from school. chrysler corporation fails to take a stance on the problem denying that the problem exist. i have spoke to my local dealer's service department about the problem and they denied any knowledge of it. i would sale the vehicle, but in good conscience i could not do that to another individual. several dealerships have replaced the upper and lower wiring harnesses on several vehicles and this seems to have resolved the problem. again to restate the problem it seems to occur after the spark plugs are changed in the vehicles. this would lead one to believe that disturbing the position of the wiring harness effects the vehicle. chrysler no longer manufacturers that wiring harness, as they are on the third version of it. this in itself would lead you to believe that chrysler has some knowledge of a problem, but will not issue a recall or take any official position. my main concern is for my wife and children's safety while riding in this vehicle. i ask that you please take an in-depth look into this situation. *tr

My wife was driving and just about to get onto the interstate and with no warning, she couldn't accelerate past 25-30mph. luckily she was able to pull to the side of the road quickly without an issue and turned the car off, waited a minute and started the jeep up again and was then able to accelerate. when talking to the dealer, they have never heard of this problem before. when jeep was checked at a local dealer, they pulled error codes that pointed to the transmission speed sensor. only about $700 to replace that with labor!! the sensors are all part of the circuit board and thus need to dismantle the transmission to replace the sensors. then i get on this site and see all the complaints with the same issue. this weekend i'm going car searching to get rid of this thing. *tr

Upon acceleration from stop vehicle will hesitate and lose power. this constitutes a hazard to vehicle and any approching vehicles during a turn. inspection indicates that transmission electronic control module is at fault along with a possible transmission sensor failure. the check engine light will come on. both of these conditions ( power and check engine ) are intermittant, indicating that the module is faulty. there have been many complaints about the transmission ecm on these vehicles. the other complaints have varying symptoms but all go back to the transmission ecm. these unit should be recalled and repaired or replaced at manufacturers cost. this problem exists in many different models and years of vehicles, but always go back to this ecm unit. after investigating this problem i don't feel that the consumer is at fault or causing this to occur. chrysler modules are and have been faulty in the past. annecdotal evidence says that other modules in chrysler vehicles have had problems too. please investigate the chrysler transmission ecm's and have them recalled.

2007 jeep grand cherokee, throttle problems. ( at low speeds 5mph -25mph) vehicle hesitates sometime when you take off, sometimes it jumps off the line, some days you go around a corner and push the throttle and it don't do anything, then it takes off real quickly. when going up and down hills it hesitates or surges and changes gears abruptly. i took to dealer and they said it was common and did a computer re-flash at no cost. it dint help anything. there were 2 other jeeps there for the same problem. the dealer wants me to bring it back and leave it for the day so they can try to fix it. i wonder how many people have to die over something like this. i wonder how many people complained and died over the toyota problems before anyone investigated? its a real problem, look around on some of the jeep forums under idle or throttle problems. i found about 100 other complains about the same problems im having in about 15 minutes. *tr
